Right! lets clarify two things for Arzani's sake, and I can see by his photo's in a recent piece that he is quite nervous and daunted by this move.

The reasons why Arzani is @ Celtic:
1) He gets to play with similar young talents and without a shit tonne of pressure and the whole world breathing down his neck.
2) He gets vital experience playing in UEFA Champions League.

If I am wrong , feel free to add more. I'm hoping the young gentleman adjusts quickly and copes well with this move.

Re: (1)  He may not have the "pressure of the whole world breathing down his neck"  (did he ever??). What he will get is plenty of pressure that comes from playing for (1) Celtic. (2) Playing football in Glasow. Both which have seen plenty of players crack under/not handle the pressure that come with playing for Celtic, and/or playing in Glasgow.

As for your point (2). If he is good enough for game time, then yes, he will get "vital experience playing in UEFA Champions League".

He should do well at Celtic because they are miles better than the rest of the competition, which is likely not much (if any) of a step up from the A-league which he was clearly capable of handling.

With a better team around him he'll probably put on all the assists he should have got with Melb City but for their (McCormack aside) incompetent finishing.

You could say that about any of the top 2 teams in any Euro tier 2/3 league.  They are all pressure cooker situations.  Celtic at least play a good style of football, so should allow Arzani to develop well  (and improve his ftiness).

He has the opportunity to develop an on-field chemistry with Rogic which could greatly benefit the national team.

I like him going to Celtic. Interesting that listening to soccer stoppage time podcast Tony Rallis mentions that his manager Vince Grella told him he would prefer that Arzani get loaned on to the continent whereas Man City are the ones pushing him towards Celtic. Now for the bloody SPFL Aussie TV deal.

The champion league experience is now looking a little shaky, maybe Europa League.

Talking about assists. I remember Harry Kewell when he was at his peak man, fark he could put a cross in on a plate. Fucking insane

It's up to him how 'quality' he wants to become.

Saw a suggestion he should join Leeds. Could be good under Biesla and a tick closer to Manchester. I'd prefer that but I hope Celtic make the CL.

Celtic are guaranteed at least Europa League right?

The thing is, for most of those UCL (shit) games , they never had a full squad really.

Against Barcelona & Man City they had there full strength side or around abouts but that was it. (& I think Rogic was in/out w/ fitness issues)

They constantly played weak teams against these rubbish teams in UCL.

Let's hope Daniel starts in those squads, because they really don't seem to take most of those teams serious.

It's a good step up imo, baby steps

What are you on about,  Celtic have had 3 starting player's who have just got back from Holiday and will take time to get back into games.
Celtic take UCL qualifiers very seriously to think otherwise is ridiculous.
Arzani's chances to make the starting 11 at the minute are good, if we re sign Roberts his chances will be limited.
Going to Celtic is good for Arzani, being tied to city group, is his problem,  if he performs to a top level at Celtic, it won't necessarily make him an option at city, but they won't sell Arzani to a top English or European rival either.
His best option is Celtic buy him, then he is free of the city group and Celtic would sell him to the highest bidder.

Brendan Rodgers on Daniel,

"He hasn’t done anything since his last game with Australia a little while back so he is going to have to come in and adjust and get up to speed before we can even consider him for a game.”
The thing that shits me about this is that everyone knew he was joining a club in Europe including himself. After the World Cup and your holiday break why wouldn't either Man city or Melbourne City get him on a training regime. Now he won't play for a month ffs. Happens with a lot of players.

Philip Micallef:

The reason is that, provided he gets picked fairly regularly, Arzani would not be expected to work too much defensively simply because with Celtic he will not need to.

Yet when Celtic are engaged in tougher UEFA Champions League matches where the opposition will have much more of the ball, Rodgers could be tempted to play Arzani for a half or at most an hour, as he has often done with fellow Socceroos star Tom Rogic. Or not risk playing him at all.

The classy Canberran does not have a big engine and he hardly ever played the full 90 minutes under Rodgers in the tough matches against the Europeans.

It is also probably fair to say that we have not seen a marked improvement in the quality of Rogic's overall play since he first moved to Glasgow in 2013.

Arzani's developing game might be better suited at a Belgian, Dutch or Swiss club that has stiffer opposition all-round where he can learn to defend as well as attack and become a more complete player.

And in so doing fulfil his rich potential.

Micallef like most people who don't watch Rogic at Celtic are kidding themselves if they think Celtic haven't been great for his career. He can barely last a game despite my love for him.

Who do.think Arzani is? The new Messi ffs, he barely got photographed in Man City shirt before he was punted out on loan.
CFG need someone to showcase his talents to European clubs , so he can be punted for a 7 figure some,  to balance their FFP.
Celtic have previously taken loanees from City and I believe not one has ever started a EPL game for them.
Arzani is there to balance the books,  that's why I said he would be much better off signing for Celtic and then be on sold to EPL teams.

I'm not sure what the details were with regards to Roberts contract at the time. It could be possible that Manchester City had some sort of plan for Roberts, that they may not have with Arzani? (I don't know).

As for Roberts, there is some noise about Roberts signing with us. If it's true, nice. If not, it is what it is. But before we buy any more attacking mids/forwards, please, pleASE, PLEASE sign a centre back first!!!

Yes, loser will drop to the Europa League playoff draw.

Champions League Playoff:
Celtic/ASK Athens (winner) vs Malmo/MOL Vidi (winner).

Europa League Playoff:
Celtic/ASK Athens (loser) vs Spartans Jurmala/Suduva (winner).

Celtic shouldn't have any problems in that europa league playoff if they end up there.
