Ross McCormack is more than capable of scoring 15 goals alone let alone needing Oar to chime in with one or two.

To expect Tommy Oar to be a part of those 15 goals is ridiculous. The guy has clearly forgotten how to play anywhere NEAR his UTRECH days

Edit : OK refreshed my memory and there were only rumours of disciplinary problems at city, he wasn't kicked out.

+x+x+xCertainly be an upgrade for the Mariners and if Ross Mccormack comes on board there’s 15 goals a season added in.Their problem will be the back 4 and Kennedy as keeper. They will still leak goals A HAHAHA Very OPTIMISTIC I reckon. Is this the same Ross mccormack who was kicked out of his loan to city back to Aston villa for disciplinary issues and who the villa fans suggest is a broken alcoholic, frozen out of the team by the villa manager, with those same fans lamenting their misfortune all summer that no one would ever take him off their hands because no one is that stupid!? THAT Ross Mccormack? Which is the same Ross McCormack that scored 14 goals in his last 17 games for Melbourne City last season.

You know your career is down the shitter when your only option is to play for the Mariners

I hope Oar just stays somewhere for a few years.
His career has stagnated since he left Utrecht.

Some of those follow up tweets make the whole saga rather messy.

I think 15 goals is about right factoring in assists mccormak will create for others around him adding to the goals he scored himself.

CCM certainly look like they'll be a force. Unlike our mob of relying on a bloke that spends most of his time being injured. Maybe the young blokes will pull a rabbit out of a hat, Strain amazed a lot of people last year.

+x+x+xJA never knew how to use Oar,so here's hoping Mulvey can.If he can run and lob in passes to the striker ,CCM could cause havoc.Oar,ONeil and Hiariej is a solid looking midfield. They all know how to defend, aren't ancient and are mobile. Matt Simon can head the ball, so good crosses in from Oar could work. Great. There is five goals in the next three seasons. All up to McCormack

It was such a poorly executed move too. The refusal to sign a new contract, the idea that I think it was Ajax was after him, the Bilbao trial when he wasnt eligible and then landing up in a league he was poorly suited to and didnt settle.

+xOars worst move was the one to Ipswich Agree with this. Not suited to the English game. Should have stayed at Utrecht when he was killing it!

Oar should hang up his boots. He's one dimensional and never really finished learning his trade when he was in Netherlands

+x+xRegardless of whether CCM wil sign him, I'm glad he's out of Cyprus. Yep. Some poor career moves. The APOEL one especially He played 27 games last year for a champions league quality side. Pretty good. His undoing has been that Mario Been the coach who brought him there was sacked and they've had 2 coaching changes since with the new coaches bringing in more wingers. He's way down pecking order now albeit to some very good players

+xThrow McCormack in and they are looking very competitive. Shaping as a good season. Yeah, almost every club has reasons to be optimistic. I'm starting to get pumped.

“JA never knew how to use Oar” yeah but nah. Oar was just shit, lacking in confidence and always looking for his next overseas gig.

+xIm guessing theyd line up Kennedy McGing Cisse Golec Clisby O'Neill Hiariej Hoole-McGlinchey-Oar McCormack
Bench: Pearce, Aspro, Melling, Simon, BoltIts definitely an improvement for them. If Cisse-Golec form a good partnership thats a pretty solid spine. Would be wondering if Kennedy is the best option at keeper and if theyre one fullback (and maybe CM depth) short of a decent top 6 tilt We've been playing three at the back with two strikers a lot this pre season. Will be very interesting to see how we fit Oar in if we continue with the 3- 2- 2- 1 - 2. He's not exactly a wingback or a central 10 is he. Still very excited to have that extra bit of class and experience in the squad, if he signs. I'd be fairly happy with that lineup if we do play a regular 4231- swapping out Bolt for Pain of course :P
