+x+xIf South come into the a-league, they would get less than City. That is the reality you need to accept. Sure they would have the most entitled fans in the league but they would still be somewhere around the numbers of CCM. Interesting take considering souths crowds were on par with City in a semi pro era when Melbourne had 1.5 million less people. Well, it is the reality and it really makes you look foolish for mocking what are perfectly decent crowds. For what it is worth, 5 or 6 000 will be pretty good at your home ground.

Im not knocking the crowd..i actually said i believe the figure. I even took up the last maccas freebies they had earlier in the season when they lost 0-3 to Sydney.

+x+x+x+xWhat was the Al3ague crowd figure 7,746 Pahahahhahaha bullshit Im almost buying it , the maccas freebies behind goal area was pretty packed. Not that CFG care but i doubt this had more than 1500 paying spectators. The area that was pretty packed has a capacity of 5.2k.

Very similar to the game i attended earlier in the season. They should just run the maccas thing for the rest of the year..wozza ball is not worth paying for.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xalmost identical to the first year average So that means about 500k extra attending the A-League by the end of this season compared to the first season. Thats not necessarily an indicator of more people attending, just a higher total Adelaide, Brisbane, Central Coast, Newcastle and Perth all posted a higher single game attendance in season 1 than in the current season Its a measure of the size of the "business". The cost of a 21 game 8 team season that came off the back of a semi professional league is smaller than the cost of the a 27 game 10 team season with higher wages and operating expenses The investment the FFA have made into the A League since season one would be more than 10 fold, yet the interest is the same The interest isn't the same. The fact that there are 60% more games averaging the same means attendance has been sustained over a longer season while also bringing in 20%+ more patrons to game attendance. The increased revenue has also allowed the establishment of a W-League and an NYL of sorts. The total attendance for season 5 (same length but closest to season 1) excluding expansion teams was 1,159,586 with an average of 10736 (across 108 games) The total attendance for last season excluding expansion teams was 1,147,409 with an average of 10624 across the same number of games Bare in mind some home games for teams in season 5 were against NQF and GCU instead of MC and WSW. Also that this season is lower than last season The sustained attendances for season 1 for a longer period was something achieved in season 5 at first attempt So you are changing the point of discussion which was a comparison between Season 1 and this season. This season will have roughly the same average attendance as Season 1 with 500k more total attendance because the season is 51 games longer and involves 2 more sides. That's an improvement/growth whatever you want to call it. Wow! Who would have thought it will come to this! Back to square one! I thought it will happen and even think its gonna get a hell of a lot worse! Why? Because it is a boring closed league with a lot of boring meaningless games. With a lot of boring meaningless clubs. "Clubs"? What clubs? You mean franchises. Does anyone actually feel they are a part of a club? lol Yes, sorry to disappoint you, but I dont see why it matters. Why is a franchise system so bad, yet a big euro club that operates as a business first and foremost and charges working class fans out of stadiums acceptable?

I absolutely agree with this but in saying that I don't feel like I am apart of a club due to the set-up, the way it's run and interacts with fans, and the continue oppression of fan culture. Gimme another bain-aid Johnny.

One thing I noticed from the Matilda’s game last night was even though it was only 6k. From what it seemed everyone there was a hardcore Matilda fan (besides one bitch talking afl) what I mean is everyone was engaged with the game

If Charlsworth doesn't react to the 8-2 thrashing and this dismal crowd he seriously is one dumb fuck of an owner.

Surely Charlesworth opens the gates as an apology for the next game. You can’t get much lower than what was served last night.

Because they are not clubs that the fans can claim to belong to or own. Operating as a business is fine and completely a separate issue. All European clubs are run as a business. But they also own their own IP, have club rooms and social facilities, and there is grass roots football from Under 5s and up so the Soccer Mums can take their little kiddies and don the shirt and play in the mud.

+xBrisbane v Wanderers 8,133 Brisbane Roar has to be the most boring night out in all of Brisbane. It would be more fun to poke your own eyes out, before painting your Son's room and watching the paint dry with sore eyes.
