I must admit I thought I heard 9,446 over the Tanoy

Double checked the A League website which concurs:

https://www.a-league.com.au/match/perth-glory-v-brisbane-roar-fc-a-league-03-11-2018/1002840

So revise down by 400, either way it’s an underwhelming number.

500 above Perth's long term average attendance is underwhelming.  Hmmm.  They were only playing Roar.  ;)

ha ha, “they were playing Roar” so having put in an ACL winning high-profile coach and assembled an outstanding squad, and backed that up with a good start to the season ... they can’t do better than that because “it’s Roar” ... right-ho 😂

(Personally I’d be looking at the high cost of membership and ticket pricing)

So 13 years and they can only attract another 500 hundred fans? What an league, I guess in another 13 years we can add another 500.

obviously bring in P&R so all those NPL teams can help boost our average attendances.

Well, all that advertising didn't work. Only so many ways you can polish a turd. Expansion was only a band-aid as well. Maybe try a tried and tested global model that works.

Don't know why you are so against it or why you are getting so defensive?

No, I'm just wondering if you will keep whinging when average attendances go down.....if not P&R would be almost worth it just for that.

I believe I'm offering a rather positive change and solution for a negative situation and a negative model. I would have thought opening up the pyramid is a POSITIVE thing to do. I thought trusting football clubs in being responsible for their own house and scrapping the cap was a POSITIVE approach too football. I believe in clubs being paid in a transfer market for developing and selling the youth products and create another revenue stream was a POSITIVE idea.

Maybe you should look within yourself and you may find that protectionism is the only thing that's negative around here and those that want to keep that system in place.

Far from negative, chief.

If you hold up average crowds as a failure of the model now then you have to hold up average crowds under promotion and relegation. If you mock the game with 5k crowds now then you have to mock 5k crowds with P&R.

wasn't it up by 7% last week? so it was just one bad round where a lot of the smaller clubs hosted games.

When all the derbies were played. Yes. It was up because someone wanted to start with a bang.

and all the bigger teams played away.

i also should add how annoying it is that Victory didn't get the cup eve game  where we have been trying to build a tradition. there is an NBL game instead which has been getting a bit of media.

it depends on when the big two derbies are played early. Its pretty much always between rounds 1-3 somewhere, as noted last week, we never really have a true early picture until after round 3.

Two festivals happening in and around  Newy on Saturday (This That and Bitter & Twisted) hurt our numbers, should be a much better crowd on Saturday against Sydney FC. Would expect them to bring a fair crowd up the highway as well.

Probably against our bail/parole conditions...

It’s a pretty big drive btw. I would imagine maybe 1k travelling fans at most. Maybe 5k from the greater Mudgee region.
