+xOne positive is Finch though, he has looked really solid and it just makes me even more frustrated it took this long for him to get his chance. Should have been in the team a long time ago. If Warner can make a Test team then yes Finch could too. Both had loose techniques in the early years. Warner improved before Finch and got the nod. Finch became a specialist limited over player while clearly working on his red ball game. It appears to have paid off as he has been the most consistent of all our batsmen.

Unless Marsh sr can get at least a half ton in the second innings then surely his career is done and dusted.

The new rule clearly states that is home. So why was he given?

The simple story here is Australia took the foot off the throat in their first innings when we should have been applying the coup de gras. Is this poor captaincy or poor bowling? We all agree Labu should have been bowling far sooner than he did.

Starc was pretty ordinary with the ball but he is providing very useful runs.

Another five for by Abbas. This bloke looks innocuous.. 125/130kph but it is what he does with the pill before it leaves the hand that makes him a real weapon. Vernon Philander has the same skills. These two blokes have made our best batsmen look second rate.

How has Abbas only played 9 tests when he has 384 FC wickets @20? The mind boggles.

Siddle was picked to be the workhorse.. few do that job better. Then why is he opening the bowling?

Yay!
Starc gets a wicket caught at mid off to dismiss an opener.

+xAbsolute shambles of a team, only we could have a team 5/60 and a day later have more or less lost the test. We struggle in Asia. Most Aussies don't see it. Out of sight, out of mind.

We see and we dont like it. CA see it.. do they do anything to stop it? Those Indian like decks at the NCC are next to useless as they are only for practice not play.

+x+x+xBreakthru by Starc. That is only his 4th wicket of the series Is that all? Yep and he is our strike bowler. He has always been inconsistent, but as long as he is taking wickets, nobody worries. His foot could be worrying him.

I thought Lyon was on fire when he nearly had Zaman caught behind, but he has just conceded two boundaries in two balls.

Cummins and Hazlewood are injured. Stanlake can only bowl a few overs. They didn't select Bird.

Lyon looks good when he is bowling defensively. But because he can be one dimensional he can also be taken to the cleaners..as Zamam just proved with consecutive lofted boundaries.

Sayers in particular would be handy on these decks.

How long before he introduces him in the second. Holland has been mediocre. Would have preferred Agar who is an attacking left armer.

Part timers Mark Waugh, Shane Watson, Greg Blewett, James Faulkner and Marsh are much quicker.
