@Sub007 Oh, so you haven’t bothered to check. Heard of Google? But it’s easier to troll, eh?

https://www.foxsports.com.au/football/a-league/aleague-201819-clubbyclub-guide/news-story/801a4891e7c2027779be108aeb22e5f9
This has Roar sixth. It's the only thing I can find.
I can remember Kosmina having Roar pretty low, maybe even last.

They obviously have no idea if they thought Perth are one of the weaker teams, especially if HIll and Garb had them as Premiers.

I predicted Roar at 6th...is starting to look like I was being a tad optimistic . I still think we are quite capable of coming 6th though if the team rallies for some reason .
However this is still not good enough.
We are a one team town and it is the third largest city and state in Australia.
We expect to be up there challenging.
I can't ever see JA having us as a realistic chance of winning the big show .
I don't think he has it in his locker .

I like JA and he may be good at coaching players at training but he can't manage a team during a game.
We are 2nd last...  and it is where we deserve to be at present.

Was it Steve Corica that took over from Crook, originally temporarily but was offered the gig but said no, vaguely remember him refusing cause it was too much pressure (is that right?) They were forced to get Farina i think...

I could see Corica walk rather than sacked,  i don't think he's cut out, definitely an assistsnt, whenever i see him i think he's nervous. Reckon he's riding whats left of arnies team,  once he's put his stamp on it i think it'll be a fail.

JA would be the leading contender at the moment (I think a lot of his problems stem from his assistant) and Corica a dark house to go if FC don't improve.

I think coaching/managing is something you learn over time no matter how good s player you were.
Coaching is about communication and man management no matter how much you know about the game.
You just don't walk off the field one day and next minute become a successful coach, regardless of how many badges or courses you complete. It all helps sure, but that man management is key and it normally takes time to become part of your coaching abilities.
I don't see that in Aloisi or Joyce or maybe even Corsica. Certainly not in Ross Aloisi who I think is Johns biggest problem.

Aloisi in my view.

Has had 3 years at the helm and has a pretty good team on paper.
He’s got the foundations for a solid side but they looked toothless in the front third yesterday

@ Aussie Pride.

I don’t disagree with that I’d just extend the JA record a bit.

He’s conceded 2 goals in each of his last 7 away games

He’s only kept only clean sheet in something like the last 24 away games.

And in the last 17 home games he’s running at an average of 0.9 goals per game.

With the goals conceded you've got to give Devere a starting spot. Or has he fallen out with Ross!!! Therefore he falls out of favour with John......that's unhealthy John and you don't own the team, we'll be still here when you are gone so respect what everyone is saying.

Let Ross go or both of you go!!!!

I don't reckon Aloisi is the issue at Roar, but that doesn't mean he won't get the sack, it's very possible if things don't turn around. I tend to agree that the issues stem from his assistant and other coaching staff. The fitness levels of the players just doesn't appear to be up to scratch. I can see Corica gone if SFC don't make finals. If they do, he'll be there for another season. If they get Bobo back in the January transfer window, I can see SFC having a solid run into the finals. Joyce won't get the sack. MC are not about winning titles, they are about scouting young talent and making money via transfer fees. MC have the means to match the spending of other clubs but choose not to. They will be more likely to just let his contract run it's course and get someone new at that point. Mulvey is the interesting one. I can actually see him quitting, just like Okon did. The Mariners issues are different. It's clear they simply don't have the quality in the squad when compared to the rest of the league. Spending the absolute bare minimum on the squad may have worked 8-10 years ago, but those days are long gone. Rival clubs are not just spending more money but spending wisely. I'm starting to think that Charlesworth is just running out the clock until the HAL is independent so he can sell the licence at a decent price.

@ someguyjc

John appoints the assistant coaches so while I agree I think things can be improved if he hired better assistants - he hasn’t .... so it’s his fault.

And there’s nothing wrong with the fitness of the players.

As another example of how Aloisi has been given everything he needs to succeed the Roar hired the fitness coach from WSW at the end of last season, put the team in to a dedicated training facility which includes Gym, swimming pools etc and started everyone back in preseason training early.

They’ve even moved training back 2 hours to 1000 to train them in the heat to improve fitness.

So they’re fit, as seen by some outstanding pressing play this year.

But if you can look at them and think they’re not I’d say that points to something else - motivation.

And for clues to that I’d look to DeVere. Unless he’s broken some sacred team rule, shagged everyone’s wives, or come out as a Pauline Hanson supporter there is no reason why a fit n healthy 29 year old should be frozen out of the squad entirely.

If you’re a player in a squad with a player being frozen out like that it doesn’t feel good. And there’s always a feeling that there for the grace of god go I and “I could be next”. After that first goal went in yesterday the team lacked any sort of motivation - why?

I dont know how anyone can say that it is not JA's fault and blame it on the support staff this year. in previous years maybe but this season we have a very well regarded fitness coach (former WSW fitness coach). we have 2 extra match day assistants who are both meant to be great, our academy is well run we have a training base. JA has everything he needs to do well. he has recruited reasonably well (we have a better team than last season) and we are playing terribly. There have been moments this season where we have looked good but in no game have we looked better than the opposition for the entire 90 or even for the majority of the game.

i have been a pretty good supporter of JA as for most of his time here there has been a lot going against him which has been out of his control and he has dealt with those circumstances well but now he has everything he wants and could need and we are going backwards. We look like at times we are trying to play patient build up football up front trying to move the ball side to side, this is fine when you do it to move defences around so you can slip a ball through to a striker but now we do it to end up with a late lofted cross from the wing against a set defence making it at best a 50-50 (but with ricky and Mckay up front against Boogs and NTS a 90-10 to the defender).

there no longer seems to be an attacking mantra its just work it slowly into the corner then hit and hope into the centre. JA has to go.

I actually forgot Devere was even at the club. You'd think at the very least he'd be guaranteed a spot on the bench.

When a coach chooses Jacob Pepper as the bench CB over Luke DeVere, there must be an enormous issue.

Serious question, what coaching qualifications has Aloisi achieved? All I know of as to the extent of his education was he spent some weeks in Spain 'studying' at some academy's over there after getting the boot from Heart but I haven't heard of him doing any badges etc.

He'd have to have some FFA accreditation ... considering second division NPL sides need accredited coaches, I'd assume A-League would have higher standards. Need AFC badges for them to play in Asian comps too.

The Nix haven't been satisfying enough for Rudan so I bet he'll walk at season's end and perhaps Roar picks him up.

So who would our caretaker coach be as JA has to be booted within the next 2 weeks?

No one on here actually thinks John Aloisi has done a good job wherever he has coached.
They guy ALWAYS has an excuse then finally the start of this year he says no more excuses and he’s saying they are title contenders.
They’re useless.

If Brisbane want to win anything he has to be sacked
