+xand no mention of Minnamino's Southampton debut scoring. Oh nice, didn't spot that. Watts was on the bench as well.

+xHonda to Portimonense in Portugal. They've already got two Japanese players, Koki Anzai who was recently with Kashima, and have just signed goalkeeper Koki Anzai from Kashiwa Reysol. They've also just loaned former Barcelona youth player Lee Seung-woo from Sint-Truiden with an option to buy, and their Portuguese coach also just signed Jafar Salmani having previously coached him in Iran, so they are really all in on Asian football. Director of football at Portimonense is Robson Ponte, ex-Urawa Reds footballer and J League legend.

Kagawa on in the 83rd minute for PAOK. Might be a chance for an A-League club to have a crack at him.

Shomurodov on at half time for Genoa against Hellas Verona, jumping on a howler of a backpass from their RB straight away in the 48th minute and scoring for a 2-2 draw: https://streamja.com/6Baq1 They've got Inter Milan next week.

Not a great day for Teremi in Porto's Champions League Ro16 second leg away against Juventus, sent off for a second yellow card within two minutes, the second for kicking the ball away after the whistle! Porto holding on for 3-3 on aggregate and it goes into extra time.

21-year-old Thanawat Suengchitthawon on the first team bench for Leicester for the first time in their 0-2 EPL loss to Man City. Born in Thailand, he moved to France aged 13 and played youth and reserve football with Nancy, and was capped at U16 and U17 level by France.

I have never seen this guy play, but I suspect Leicester’s Thai ownership may have been a factor in this player joining the club. Interesting nonetheless.

Hee-Chan Hwang with a goal and assist in Leipzig's 1-2 DFB Pokal semi final win against Werder Bremen.
Taremi getting man of the match on my app with an assist and a penalty taken in a 3-1 win in Portugal.
Minamino starting and playing 76 minutes for Southampton who hung on for a 1-1 draw with Leicester after going down to ten men in the tenth minute. (No Watts in squad unfortunately).
Forgot to mention that Kubo played a full match at Camp Nou in a 5-2 loss to Barcelona last week, and Shomurodov scored in a 2-0 win against Spezia earlier this week.

Thanks for that Bonger. So basically, no one gave enough of a shit about posts in the Asian Football section to even post a reply, so a thread was created in the Australian Football section where still no one gives a rat's about what Footballers from other countries are doing across the globe?! Makes sense 🤣

We should probably just merge the sub forums at this point considering how little traffic we have on here these days.
Anyway, it's obviously here to be parallel to the Aussies Abroad thread, but even if you can't see the sense in that I can't see the harm in seeing this thread title in among the strictly Australian threads. Just don't click on it if it doesn't interest you

The other thing it can be used for is the Asians in the A League. For instance, its good to see the Japanese influence coming through, with Otto, Danzuki and Kudo flying the flag. Several posters have decried the lack of Asian players in the A League. Talking about it could be advantageous.

I'll stand by what I said, I can't see too many people on here being interested in the topic
