It looks near impossible to buld a new team when you have everyone in lockdown.
Maybe players will be signed by someone wandering around Australia in a Hazmed suit?
But how do you get Visa players?
Anyway its going to be the same issue all around the world.
My best guess would be a delayed start to the next season for all Football.
Most likley a two month window once the Corona Virus is conquered.

There will be a huge number of uncontracted players at seasons end including OS players.
Its probably a good opportunity to start from scratch for this team.

Rumour is that they have 10-12 players signed including some Aussies returning from overseas.  I don't know whether they are genuine rumours or SST type rumours though.  :)

Let’s hope for the sake of the game that Macarthur do have their act together and will deliver.

Agree , it’s really got me beat how our national capital don’t have a team in the National football comp yet we have a team from NZ and the Central Coast .

Are they bound to be in Sydney? Can they sell the license if need be? To another state or country?

If MFC don’t play how much less money do FFA get from Foxtel? Or do CCM just move to Sydney and get it over with 

I mean Canberra was one of the teams I put in when I replaced all the MLS team names with Australian city names in FIFA 99 on the Nintendo 64.

How about that Lowy, looks like the A-League and its initial one club per city rule were all early highschool Pala's ideas after all.

CCM are going nowhere. The owners of the Sydney and Melbourne clubs do not want more clubs 'on their turf'.

Next clubs will be:- 
1) where there are no current clubs e.g. Canberra, Wollongong, Hobart or dare I say it Auckland
2) where there is only one e.g. Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth.

The only exception may be Dandenong (Team XI) since it is sufficiently geographically distinct from Melbourne.

Important dates:  The date the New era NLWG recommendations were accepted by FFA council. 
Then compare with thye Date the Bull licence was granted. The FFA may get the full licence Fee.

Hard to see a Canberra club pulling bigger attendances than CCM, but that would be a possible move for the franchise.

But I agree, they should have been in the first time the A-League expanded.

Highest non-Socceroo Asian Cup attendance during 2015.

And don't point me towards the two Mariners games held later on-They had no connection to Canberra whatsoever. Devil's advocate, I guess the Asian Cup games didn't either..

That season the Mariners average Gosford crowd was only 7,799 (using wiki as source), so no-one could say anything about Canberra still managing over 5k twice to watch a below average team based 4 hours away. 

The Mariners only function at the moment and for the forseeable future is to prevent any other team from coming last.

Surely they have to move to northern Sydney sooner or later.
