I have a strong feeling WU will easily be the second best supported / membership team in Melbourne.

My first auto-renewal payment was processed today so we should start seeing some numbers for the Jets soon.

It's a big ask for fans to sign up as members when the fixture isn't out yet.
Does anyone have a table to compare membership prices across the board? It would be good to review.

It would be good to review. but it wouldn't matter what/when the fixtures are if your a devoted supporter or in my case, wgaf its done automatically for I ticked the box and fine with it, no hassle done dusted. Being a member you have your home games with no worry about hussling for a ticket - sure some dates may clash with something personal etc but same would occur once the fixtures are out anyway. Yer good point checking up on costs through the years - I'll see if I can find my previous prices.

***AFL ARTICLE*** ”The Giants surpassed 30,000 memberships last month, which was trumpeted as a landmark moment for the expansion club. It is a figure that compares favourably against the numbers posted by the Sydney NRL clubs it competes against. Matthews said around 6000 of those members are based in Canberra, where the Giants play three matches per season.” ”Compared to last year, GWS has grown their membership base by approximately 5000, but home crowds at Giants Stadium have remained static at an average of 12,172 - still better than several NRL clubs, but down from the peak of 13,455 two years ago (not including finals). GWS's 2018 annual report shows the club's membership-related expenses ($2,183,385) actually exceeded revenue from membership and merchandise ($1,970,350). No other AFL club loses money in that department, the Herald understands. Sports marketing expert Con Stavros, an associate professor at RMIT University, said membership counts were "overstated" as a barometer of club health but were ingrained as part of Melbourne AFL culture. "It’s fascinating that the interstate clubs are now really trying to push the membership thing," Stavros told the Herald. "It’s lost a bit of its currency to the average person. We see the numbers now with clubs boasting 80,000 - when they were tied to 11 or 16-game memberships they were lower, 25,000 to 30,000. They held more weight then. “Now, like all things in data, it becomes a number that is a bit unclear. Any sponsor who knows what they are doing, when they are presented with those numbers, will ask for the background behind it. They would ask for detail about how many fit into each category, how many actually go to games." It's doubtful the Giants could actually do much more to build their fanbase - the team is talented and successful, the club is proactive in the community, the AFL's promotional efforts in Sydney are highly visible and players are regularly made available to media. A maiden premiership or even grand final appearance could have a transformative effect on their broader support but Matthews said the key was sustained success. "That's what we've learned from the Swans," Matthews said. "If they're missing the finals this year, that's the first time in 10 years. That's an astonishing achievement, that's actually not the way the competition's set up. You're not supposed to be doing that. That's a template for us." Stavros said it would take "generational change" for GWS to establish a true foothold in Sydney. "If you look at it from the AFL’s point of view, they want a strong portfolio of teams. GWS opens up a key market for them nationally, which has an impact on TV revenue and sponsors," he said. “They would look at it as progressing as they would have thought. It will be 10 or 15 years away before we can say whether it is worthwhile or not. The AFL had to do it but they realise it is an investment cost. It’s tough in those markets where a membership culture doesn’t exist." https://www.smh.com.au/sport/afl/sydney-afl-derby-could-see-record-low-crowd-despite-giant-growth-20190801-p52d10.htmlI think GWS membership has been discussed earlier.

Victory category A and B renewal deadlines have already passed and the category C/active renewal deadline is today. they should have been delayed until the fixture release. there are days people can't attend games, so they hold out until they see the fixture. eg. we played a lot of Sunday home games and only 1 Friday home game last year. I know people that will downgrade if that occurs again.

Jets membership tracker saying 11,634. Is this a number not updated from last season or a true number for this season? https://membership.newcastlejets.com.au/?_ga=2.4190514.303635483.1565572245-876571040.1563533411
