Australia with a chance here if Anderson remains injured. Survive the first 60 or so overs it could get easy

lyon and cummins partnership does it again
I have to question the bowling rotation yesterday. The partnerships weren't mixed up enough. Still, better today

+x+x5 maidens in a row lyon-cummins partnership looks more effective than lyon siddle We needed this pressure building bowling hours ago. I am thinking if our express men can not penetrate on this deck then the slower Pommie bowlers are not going to either. Tim shudda left Cummins on. Best he has bowled the whole match.

+x+x+x+x+xOk can we win it from here? 50/50. We need to take the next 2 wickets quickly. 52 lead. Pattinson needs to rip out these last two soon. Anyone needs to get them! Patto needs something special from here to warrant reselection for Lords. Cummins removes Broad. All a bit late. Lead is a dangerous level now..specially if Anderson is fit to bowl.

a huge critique of paines captaincy yesterday, the bowling partnerships were always the same
lyon with siddle
cummins with pattinson
now we see lyon with cummins and they look a much better bowling team

+xSangakarra just released a stat that stated Lyon has beaten the bat over 30 times. How does Broad manage to keep sweeping him from wide of off stump to leg? He is getting good assistance from the ruff. Some of those plays and misses may have been negated with some smart footwork too.

+x+xWill anderson bat? I think a 50 run lead puts australia slightly back in front We're in a good position considering some rotten luck (to be fair that luck is balanced by andersons injury) Max 75 lead grazor otherwise we are behind the 8 ball. Thankfully they dont have a class spinner as this deck is turning and it is only the second day. Hope also Anderson is not fit to bowl. I’d prefer to see a victory with England having all players being fully fit.

+xYou are a fan boy of Hazlewood, Baggers! Yes I am DC. I happen to think that a specialist seamer is more skilful than a tearaway. He has to put the ball on a handkerchief and not just let rip which requires brawn not brain. Despite Haze's drop in wicket taking form.. he remains the best seamer in the country imho.. Most of the posters on WP agree with me.

+xyesterday lyon was bowling hand granades without luck a paradox of his career is he has not taken as many wickets as you would expect when conditions are favorable yet often finds a way in tough conditions O'keefe by contrast is a bit like jadeja. Looks innocuous but takes wickets! I rate Jadeja over O'Keefe.

Actually, H may be quicker than Patto over an entire Test at this point in time. Pace is not everything. Hazlewood does not need pace to take wickets.. he needs guile and skill and luck.. specialist seamers need luck as they dont always get the conditions that best suit them.

In cricket we have stats. Why fo you think H struggled to take wickets in the last 12 months of Tests. Dunno to be honest. Looked to be bowling the same pressure building stuff he has always bowled. Just a lack of wickets phase his career is having?
