You're talking about things that aren't in our hands working out the way we hope and "she'll be right".

I'm talking about doing all we can and not putting ourselves in a position to worry about it.

Yes we are the strongest team in the group, but were clearly coming at this with differing philosophies.

Speaking of streaks coming to an end, we're up to 4 world cups in a row now...

Because you are assuming all the top 2 teams are going to win every game in their group except against eachother which is ridiculous. 3 groups already have had the bigger teams stumble, some of the other groups which haven't yet had a slip up include North Korea, Tajikstan and Oman.

We won't be in trouble of not getting the 2nd place unless we drop points in 3-4 matches. The same as the previous campaign where the cutoff was 17 points.

What happens if the game ends in a 0-0 draw? I know Nepal will park the bus and the Socceroos just cant score all to often. Its quite worrying.

Nepal will be sitting nicely on 4 points and will want to go all out to snag Jordan.

That wouldn't have to happen, they'd just have to slip up less than we do.

With the new FFA board in charge that's unlikely.

Well yeah, a 3-0 result against Kuwait, in Kuwait, is a major cause for concern... You should be worried! If only we could borrow some New Zealand players for this tie :ermm:

New Zealand would wipe the floor with the Socceroos atm, better players and we actual have a striker unlike someone we know.

Nepal game 11

                     Langerak
Grant   Souttar      Degenek   Smith
                 Jeggo Luongo
Mabil          Hrustic    Goodwin
                    Taggart

Chinese Taipei 11

                       Ryan
Grant   Souttar     Degenek   Behich
                 Jeggo  Mooy
Leckie           Irvine     Borrello
                     Giannou

Makes this Milligan call up a bit unnecessary. Would've preferred Susnjar. Glad to see Wright being considered. His fitness must be OK to be selected.

As one would expect, the squad is very unimaginative. Typical Arnie. Whether that is a good or bad thing, we shall find out in due course. I would have liked some broadening of the squad, and the introduction of a couple of fringe type players to the mix. This seems to be the easier two game set we will face in this phase of qualifying, so should have been used for that.

That's what friendlies are for.
Even though it's Nepal, let's keep the tinkering for the next friendly.

SOCCEROOS SQUAD CHANGE

IN - Dimi Petratos ✅
OUT - Mass Luongo ❌

Luongo is managing a "minor knee issue".

Agree.

I’m ok with starting a couple of bench players but making mass changes and tinkering for a competitive match comes off as disrespectful imo

Tbh this is less than a friendly. Not since Vanuatu and Tonga have wins been more certain. About as mickey mouse as football gets. If there's a need to experiment and tinker, these 2 games are as good an opportunity as you'll ever have.

so, if for some chance we fuck it up and lose then those 3 points towards WCQ don't really matter?

So since we beat Kuwait 3 nill away, the team that beat Nepal 7 nill at home, does that mean anything less than a 7+ goal win by the socceroos, Arnie should be sacked?
Discuss.

Troisi thinks so. He cares not for a team managed by Arnold.

Australia's biggest down fall in football history is not taking teams seriously, Look what happened in Thailand last WC qualifiers.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
