Keen to give him a shot considering the zero decent strikers we have.

Bring him in. We seem to have a vacancy up forward.

Cap him Asap! Taggart, Maclaren have some ability but we need to explore ALL options- especially for a striker that can get consistent shots on target.

Unless he’s willing to move to Australia, no thanks.
Same applies to Boyle and Karacic.

+x+xUnless he’s willing to move to Australia, no thanks.Same applies to Boyle and Karacic. What if he's playing in Europe? He should sign for an A-League club. I think calling up players who have never set foot in Australia is a joke. If overseas born players of Australian descent want to play for the Socceroos, then they should do a Ziegler and sign for a HAL club before being called up. +x+xUnless he’s willing to move to Australia, no thanks. Same applies to Boyle and Karacic. None of our best players live in Australia?! Mooy, leckie, Rogic, Ryan, Arzani etc etc Yes but those players actually spent time in Australia before representing the country. This guy probably hasn’t set foot in Australia and shouldn’t be called up until he spends some time living here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; all 211 members of FIFA are playing by the same eligibility rules, and it's up to us to give ourselves the best chance of success that we can.

His mother is Australian. If he can get a passport then he’s Australian. There’s really not much more to it

Surely there are more players that could play for us other than Scottish decent players? Unless it’s a funding issue for scouting.

+xI never picked sub007 for the ultra right wing nationalist type. I’m actually very left wing. I just think calling up players who have never set foot in Australia and are only playing for Australia because they aren’t good enough for the country of their birth is a slap in the face of those who dreamed of playing for the Socceroos when they were growing up.

+xI never picked sub007 for the ultra right wing nationalist type. That's not fair. I agree with Sub007 FWIW. Picking blokes that have never lived here is bullshit. And I don't care what other countries do.

That includes time wasting, booing opposition countries etc

Is he by any stretch of the imagination an Australian? No. I wouldn't care if he came here and lived here for 5 years and then became Australian but until then piss off.

Maybe Australia hav failed to make 2nd round of WCup since 2006 cos we haven’t recruited ‘non-Aussie’ players like Boyle enough?!

Maybe he's as patriotic as it comes. Knows all the words to True Blue, has a mullet, can tell you Warnie's bowling average and knows more about the Aussie landscape than most people here. Just because you live overseas doesn't mean you can't identify with another country. There's a hell of a lot of Greeks/Italians/Croats etc in Australia that may have lived all their lives here but they sure as hell have a strong affinity with their 'motherland'. Some may be even more passionate than those who live in those countries. So no, you're opinion is grossly mis-informed.

I have a passport now and am a citizen but FMD I will never be Swedish. In saying that my child has every right to play for Australia, but she will always be Swedish to me.
