+xIf city hosted the grand final against an interstate team, would it be at AAMI or Etihad, and would either ground sell out? happy to be stand corrected on this, but after the fiasco of the 2015 GF, I believe the state government has a deal to hold it at Marvel if the GF is to be held in Melbourne. the AFL has agreed to keep Marvel free for use on HAL GF day +xCity vs CCM- 8.5k Jets vs Perth- 7k WU vs WSW- 6.5k Victory vs Nix- 15.5k Adelaide vs Brisbane- 9k City vs CCM = 7,000 Jets vs Perth = 7,000 WU vs WSW = 5,500 Victory vs Nix = 17,500 AU vs BR = 8,000 3 of the 5 games in Melbourne again. atrocious fixturing.

They have home attendance of 60k this season compared to 5k last season.

If you’re going to do that you also have to allow the fact Roar have only played at home once and that was a crappy 6.30 kick off on a Friday. After the first two rounds last year Roar has pulled over 30,000 in for two games.

Its either. Game numbers are the same. Silly me, I was thinking more teams, but of course, the number of games are the same.

City vs CCM = 6.2k, cant see how they get more than last week. Jets vs Perth = 8.2k, dont understand how they have 10k members but lower attendances? WU vs WSW = 6.4k, core of 5/6k is there Victory vs Nix = 15k, back at aami but fans not happy after last week AU vs BR = 9.2k, standard adelaide.
Just noticed 3 games in melbourne, crazy.

+xJust noticed 3 games in melbourne, crazy. second time this season and it happens a few more times. It doesn't help those of us who are interested in checking out a WU home game at some point.

No games in Sydney to maximize Matilda's friendly attendance in Parramatta.

+x+xCity v Mariners published as 5547 in News group websites Lol that's a flat out lie. 3k max. I didn’t get to go tonight but I agree that there was no way that was over 5k based on what I saw on TV. Weather was terrible today but damn the club really is struggling to get traction. This was a big event really that the club has been promoting heavily on social media in particular, but many didn’t even bother to go (I had a work function until 8pm so I wasn’t able to go). Top of the table and that crowd turns up.. worrying

It could very well be a lie, but you can't base it off what you see on tv. You only get to see 3 sides of the stadium meaning you're basically one whole grandstand. You have to be at the game to make that judgment accurately.

This is true, but having seen the game on tv, this argument assumes the fact that the unseen grandstand contained a disproportionate amount of people compared to the rest of the ground. Is there a reason that this would be the case at AAMI?

Is there a reason that this would be the case at AAMI? And in all honesty it normally is the case at every stadium except Bankwest, because Bankwest is the only one where only one side is corporates and happens to be the side that isn't shown. Basically if behind both goals there was a total of 1k which was easily possible, another 1.5k on the side with the camera view which again was easily possible, you would only need the remaining grandstand to have 3k to bring the total to the 5.5k announced. With all that in mind anything under 8k is a joke of a crowd either way, so there's no chance I'll defend that crowd, even with bad weather and it being a Friday night game.

Is there a reason that this would be the case at AAMI? Yes there is. The western stand is always shaded for summer games. Might not have been an issue last night but I dare say memberships in the western stand would sell well due to having good views for all games at AAMI Park.
