Saturday 16/11 Central Coast Stadium, Gosford 5:00pm KO local, 4:30pm central
Adelaide has dominated this fixture in recent times over the Mariners. Can the Mariners buck the trend or will Adelaide get their 3rd win on the bounce?

Adelaide are still unconvincing when we get caught on the break, and CCM are a good counter-attacking side. Silvera will cause all sorts of problems if he's not contained early on. Think AU should still have enough quality to win 2-1.

2-0 CCM. They will be hard to beat at home.

+x2-0 CCM. They will be hard to beat at home. I know it's a different and improved CCM side this season, but AU's record in Gosford over the last few seasons is very strong (better than our home record against CCM). For a while now I've always felt more confident playing them away. They'll be a tougher assignment this time though.

0-0 is my pick. Too much being put on the shoulders of a young player in Toure, if AUFC's midfield don't start creating better chances they are going to dip sharply.

2-1 Adelaide, can't see CCM winning this but they are definitely competitive.

+x0-0 is my pick. Too much being put on the shoulders of a young player in Toure, if AUFC's midfield don't start creating better chances they are going to dip sharply. Agreed for the most part. Toure won't be starting striker in a couple more weeks. He was never really meant to be. He looked flat and lost last Sunday and I'd happily start giving Opseth a proper run.

With Toure away with the Olyroos, Opseth will surely get a start against CCM. Hopefully he can bag at least one goal, which is the only thing missing from his game at the moment. Opseth's work in the final third has been excellent so far.

This game worries me. CCM have been at this point in a few of the last seasons where they are looking competitive early in the season but then decline. I think we need some points now to maintain/build confidence. Hopefully at least a draw here.

+xadelaide for me but ccm are not going to come last this season I'm increasingly feeling like the Roar are firming as favourites for the spoon.

CCM due for win - they have more fight in them this year and home, perfect time against a AU who is shipping as many as they've scored to date.

One thing I noticed, even at 1-1, Mariners aren't afraid to push numbers up the park.

that last corner, Mariners had to have someone coming in from the top of the box, ball bounced through a dangerous spot, no one there to try and get to it

The third goal was a good counter attack but wtf was Fox doing?

Same old Mariners. They have an ingrained losing mentality. Clisby giving up on Halloran for goal 3 a prime example. That was an absolute disgrace. Any coach worth his salt would sub Clisby at half tone and drop him off from the team.
