There are only two possible conclusions:
1.  either Sage was completely taken in by a conman (at least enough to visit him in London and make public statements about it);
or more worringly
2.  he was knee deep in on something which was quite dubious.

considering Sage was on the LFE twitter feed last year partying in London, suggest it is 2
