A person familiar with the crafting of the statement confirmed that it could have been far worse. An earlier draft mocked McConnell for having multiple chins, the person said. But Trump was convinced by advisers to take it out.

GOP should have taken it on the chin (pun intended) and cut off ties with Trump. They would suffer in the mid terms, but could recover quicker. Now there is this constant drag from Trump on the outside.

Now you have a guy in office who is also A, B, C, D, E and quite possibly F as well but these same media channels are now gushing over this as "stable leadership".

3 of the last 4 Presidents could barely string together a coherent sentence to save their lives. The other one gave good speeches and was charismatic, but was clearly just a hollow number in a suit and nothing else.
