CC Mariners can attract the interest of businessman Abdul Helu, who owns a third of Spanish club Rayo Vallecano, and Singapore company First 11 Capital, co-founded by two former A League players Kaz Patafta and Zac Anderson, in one day, yet Newy Jets' Martin Lee can't find anyone to on-sell their club in a long time. What's doing Lawrie?

I do think the development model suits CCM. This league does need a proper development club like a Southampton that will give promising players a shot

Mariners have to survive for the good of the competition. It’s nonsense to suggest relocating them and the only way they should be lost to the league is through proper relegation where the club survives and fights on in a lower division.

As a Mariners fan I would accept relegation if it were in place. Reading Simon Hills article about Man City, the lows and highs of following your team is exactly the experience that should be available. BTW If it was a bottom two relegation then there is a chance that Victory go down as well this year... If you relocate the Mariners then you open the door to relocate any other team that is up for sale. Hopefully they can secure a buyer and get the local Council onboard and get on with it.

From what I am hearing there are a number of interested parties .... the Mariners want to include the COE in the sale, and believe when finished the COE will provide the club revenue enabling the Mariners to compete with capital city teams... This is what the COE has looked like for a while and further development has been held up with state and local government agencies providing approvals.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=illXzg84lnc

Sounds positive from what I have heard. The buyers seem to have the exact right idea about what the club and the league should be.

+x+xThey need to be able to sell their players Only the good ones & then make sure they have onsell clauses on them world without end. Amen. What they REALLY need to do is rid themselves of the likes of Matt SImon and a few other "lead weights in the saddle bags", that have been holding them back for years. Footballers like Dylan Ruaz Diaz are what they should be striving to produce and NOT providing retirement homes for the likes of Simon!!!!

I know what your saying, and I agree, but simon is a local boy, and at SYD FC he was shown to be highly effective, giving him captaincy was stupid though. He had his time, it ain't now.

Simon is going to have an assisting role with Mariner's strikers, he is going to feature alot less on the field next season, according to what I heard on a podcast recently.
