FIFA and the AFC have announced our WC Qualifiers for OCT/NOV have been pushed back further to 2021: https://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/amp/update-on-upcoming-fifa-world-cup-qualifiers-in-asiaThat means for the entire calendar year of 2020, there won’t have been a single national team match 😢

This news also likely makes Copa participation impossible, as we’ll be needing to cram in a crazy amount of fixtures in the short space of time before the World Cup.

+xThis news also likely makes Copa participation impossible, as we’ll be needing to cram in a crazy amount of fixtures in the short space of time before the World Cup. That would be just terrible news and I hope the FFA does everything they can to stay in it, but it seems the Copa just isn't a priority for them. Just have to wait and see what the rescheduled dates for the current second round and the upcoming third round will be, I guess, but with 14 matchdays to fit inside 2021 it'll be tough. Hopefully they can push back a few into 2022. They may have to hold the inter-confederation playoffs actually in Qatar immediately before the tournament, wouldn't be that hard to organise.

FFA need to organise a friendly series with NZ. Even if it’s just A-League players.

Let’s look at the silver lining, a packed fixture means more chances for people to show their stuff.

Let’s be honest, who would want to go and play in South America for next couple of years at the very least, unless we get a vaccine for this virus shit I can’t see FA sports happening in near future, that includes Copa , Olympic Games and sad to sa the World Cup.

What makes this worse is knowing GA will be head coach of the Socceroos in 2021...
these Kangaroos can play football - Ange P. (Intercontinental WC Play-offs 2017)

Fuck yes. Arnie confirming we’re trying to arrange a camp + friendly in Europe this year, in October or November, made up of our Euro-based players.

I wonder if FFA will be looking to do a similar camp for the A-League based Socceroos. Would be keen for NZ or Fiji.

Maybe last chance to grab Dykes If you don't gently finger Dykes then he'll never get warmed up to the idea of wanting to play.

smart thing to do. Are there enough Aussies based in Asia (potentially including Aus) to have a camp or a friendly with an Asian Based roos team?
