There’s two things I’m shocked from in that article.

1. Fitzgerald is 28. It doesn’t seem long ago he showed some promise as a youngster but it eventuated to just a decent squddie.

2. Owen Coyle is managing in India.

There are so many drift wood players who are no longer young but people think they are. Only two years ago Kenny Athiu who was like what 26? Commentators were talking him up like he was about to break through and was 19 when he couldn't hit the target or make a pass. We have lost an entire generation of kids and I honestly think Covid-19 will allow us to shed off a ton of players who need to get a real job and move on. Can't wait to see the youth come through, going to be an awesome season.

So, expanding on your thoughts, 75% of our players are dead wood. Correct? Why don't we make it an u25s comp and call it, um, let's see NPL1. Haha.

Thay place is riddled with covid 19, its so dingy and thanks for taking carousel players off our hands so Australian players can Finally get an opportunity, seeing managers are too cowardly to bring through young players. Had to happen some way, reduced salary crap was a way.

I also agree that fringe players going to India is a good thing.
If average players earn good money over there good luck to them, careers can be short and no one can begrudge of that.

But the true benefit will be the opportunities given to the next generation of talent In Australia.

Very few of the Aussie players who have gone to India have been top level performers. They have just been average HAL players. I would prefer to see more youth instead of the same recycled players.
