Sonderjyske conceded four goals at home to Lyngby. Thomas maybe could've done better with one but not at fault. Four losses in a row after starting the season well. Denmark has a championship/relegation group split after 22 rounds like the K-League and Sonderjyske are right in the middle.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

WHY sign/bring in a player to a squad if you don’t seem interested in playing them?! Just to waste everyone’s time?! 3 clubs have done this now. If he’s not good enough- don’t sign him

Is the "WHY" part of your comment a serious question?? If yes, then there are several reasons as to "why"...

- The potential to make some decent coin for very little outlay and risk (aka - Manchester City).
- To add depth in position's that a club may be lacking in.
- With the plan for him/her to be a key player for their team...  There are many, many reasons why teams may sign a player.

*NOTE - One should scratch off his time at Celtic (and I'm not saying this because I am a Celtic supporter, but), because he was extremely unlucky doing his ACL on his Celtic debut,  and pretty much ruled him for out the rest off his time there

Another point to consider is, sometimes (moreso then not) it takes time for a new players to get used to their new surroundings, their new team-mates, their new team style of play, and any other adjustments that is needed for them to settle into their new environment.

That all needs sorted first, before the player can have a realistic chance at dislodging the player(s) ahead of them in the pecking order (unless they are clearlbetter than everyone else in their position at their new club).

There is also the the possibility that they have been signed for the sole purpose to add depth to a teams roster, and that (at first) will be only seen as a backup option, and they must work extra hard at training for any hope at displacing the player(s) ahead of them in the pecking order.

As I said, there are many, many reasons for why a club(s) makes a decision to sign a player.

If clubs only sign players that they will only play/select on matchday,  then teams will only have squads around about 18 players deep.

🇮🇪Hail Hail🇮🇪

Oldham has lost 2-0 to Bolton at home. They just can’t get anything going and are the most inconsistent team in the division. There are so many times this season where they get an impressive win against a top half team and look poised to go on a bit of a run, but they always lose the next one. Always. I can fully understand their fans’ frustration. Kewell is running out of excuses now. They really should be doing much better. He would have got the sack by now in any other team, but Oldham’s owner apparently used to be his agent and seems to love him.

Blackwood was an unused substitute.

This is his 3rd club that he hasnt been able to make it work consistently to make progress. Wonder if he would struggle to get another gig if he got fired from this one

I wanted to reply but quote your entire post.

1. City football group have a fucking plethora of clubs they own... all over the world. Why didn't he go to Girona or New York City Fc? Or Yokohama??? If he goes to one of these clubs I'm sure CFG would have more sway around getting him actual game time.. terrible advice to go anywhere else but these clubs.
2. Celtic aren't flooding youngsters anymore... karomoko or whatever his name is the young African kid who is clearly better than arzani can't even get game time... Daniel was never going to be ahead of him.. again horrible advice.
3. He went to Utrecht purely to keep his Nike deal.
4. Then goes to Denmark? Why not Girona or Yokohama????

Arzani really needs to come back home to SFC. Re-build himself and his career. We would use a creative attacking outlet. Former fan and junior, bring him home Danny T. And add O'Neil to that list too!

Arzani, McGree two of our recent talents to have come through the aleague as our best prospects and both at the moment are not playing for their clubs.

I know they quite young and can still come good once they find a decent envionment to flourish in, but ill ask this question has the aleague done a good enough job preparing these guys for the tough environment for Europe or is it players themselves that haven't gotten the breaks they need?

Lets hope they come through because we have seen with former young prospects who have broke though at aleague level and once we have seen them struggle in Europe they come back home, and at least they have established themselves as good aleague players but unfortunately they are not good enough for European football especially at the bigger leagues.

Let us not hope. Do they deserve all this attention? The aleague is not a good league, at least for the last few years, and definately not this year. It seems if you have a couple of decent games there's always someone to tell you you're ready to take on the world when it's obvious you're not..

Barca, have you watched Birmingham City play., ?Poor team with total kick and chase mentality. McGree absolutely should be playing. A shame the loan deal from  his newly formed US club was to these turkeys. There are teams in the Championship that try to play football.!Birmingham isn’t one of those

McGree went straight from the A League into a Championship squad and at the start was getting regular minutes & started a couple of times. I watched him play & he was just as good as everyone else & scored a decent goal as well. The fans even acknowledged his good play. For some unknown reason, the fuckwit of a Manager has included him on the bench nearly every week since, without giving him a single minute?!!! The fans have been baying for his blood for ages & you can't blame them - he's taken them from a mid-table team to battling in the relegation zone.
McGree at least is easily good enough for Europe - not the EPL maybe, but definitely up to the Championship level. He would've done well in the Netherlands.
As much as I loved watching Arzani play, right up to when he did his knee - he isn't the player he was before the injury, which is a tragedy - he could've done anything.
As for the A League not producing quality players - most of the OS Socceroos started in the A League & there are plenty of quality young players developing right now - they just have to develop here for a few more years & then have a crack OS.

Birmingham are incredibly poor. The manager is under the pump and has his favourites. McGree's contractual arrangements are the reason he's not playing much. He played well and scored so it can't be merit based.

The Roos facebook posted the 11 vs France with the A League badges. That was a marketing campaign right there. Our players certainly have a diverse mix of football education but the A League is a positive part of that. All opinion. Some foreigners find the A League shocking while others are quite complimentary.

Riley Mcgree and Daniel Arzani are 22, it is not young. Especially in Europe. So i think the reason for the struggle with a lot of our players is in Aus these players are considered young and given slack when their performances arent up to scratch where as in Europe they are considered as mature so expected to play at peak level and not make mistakes. When they do they get dropped.

We as a league need to start considering 17-19 as young and to instil this mentality in players and better prepare them for overseas.

Also Arzani whilst talented when he left, only played 24 games at a league level so the league had no prepared him for Europe because he was not here long enough (which is common with Aussie players sadly). Mcgree has only played 79 A league games which is also on the lower end. I think their was a study done where players who went overseas with 100 + A league games did better overseas than those with less. Mooy for example played 102 games in the a league so basically a full extra season (and didnt have it broken up by a euro stint)

So the MLS podcast I listened mentioned that NYCFC is bringing in 5 new players for the upcoming season, including an Australian. Could that be Arzani?

City has had some decent players spent time there, notably Angelinho(?) now at Leipzig and Herrera now in La Liga at Granada.

Could be. Europe not exactly working for him and June 30 is end of Man City contract. But I guess it could be any of the Melb City players
