Yep. Really pointless. There were other options if it was a depth issue such as Kamau.

This isn't obviously to say he won't be involved from the start next match-day but he doesn't do himself any favours. He may be favoured for now but he has to start showing something, because the competition is clearly strong.

Arzani is a strange case. A very slow work in-progress - especially at European club level. So many can see his potential but he just isn’t delivering so far at least. Hopefully it’s a much better/different story in a few years time.
Arnold was happy to protect the 1-0 lead towards end of Vietnam game and didn’t wanna risk an ambitious attacking player coming on and maybe turning ball over and conceding on counter-attacks? But honestly thought Arzani would have been better than Mabil late in 2nd half when he was clearly running on empty 

He just needs a season or two of uninterrupted football imo. It's his confidence which is lacking atm

I said it at the time but he should have come back to the AL and get minutes as opposed to playing in Europe. From all reports talent is not his issue its attitude that keeps holding him back in Europe. I understand why he may have a poor attitude, he was a little cocky when he started anyway then played in a WC after only playing half a season, so this all has likely gone to his head. If he wants to salvage his European career though he really needs to change this

Have heard this rumor of ‘bad attitude’ from that ‘i will only speak Dutch’ coach at Utrecht. But people like Bert van Marwijk and G Arnold and Assistant NT coach Rene M have only good things to say about Arzani. I’ve only heard it from Craig Moron and Kalic who have never even worked directly with him?!

The French news site  L'Equipe streams all games live but doesn't have a highlights or VOD service. I think you need a decent VPN to access the live streams, but I can't remember for certain, it's a little while since I last checked.

Dennis Genreau could be nice story to come out from the Olympic campaign, if he turns into a regular Socceroo then Tokyo has benefit the long term picture of our national team.

I've never heard any bad attitude rumours about Arzani and have always thought he came across as a decent, thoughtful chap when interviewed. Unlike, for example, Danny De Silva who's always struck me as a cocky little bugger.

Mind you, a little cockiness in a young sportsman is fine, as long as you've got the ability to back it up. If you don't then you're just a prick.
