They've got to start somewhere. Normally in the u18s then progress to u23/ reserves. I mean look at Alex Robertson, playing fairly consistently for Man City u23s every week, gets loaned out to Ross County coming last in the SPL & can't get on the field!!!

Kalik's highlights. Two headers! Both very impressive in their own respects.

He is flying extremely low under the radar, the Croatian top tier is incredibly hard to judge in terms of its true quality outside of Dinamo Zagreb, but you can't knock the fact that the league continue to produce quality players, I feel Kalik should seriously be considered for the Socceroos,

Arnie has history with him with the Mariners, SFC and olyroos. Could be good back up to Hrustic, when we are lacking in some creativity in the front third.

He wasn't particularly good in Spain for the Olyroos, but different environments and players and all that.

I agree, he should be in the frame for the Socceroos. In Spain he was played at left wing, instead of CAM, so wasn't really given the chance to show what he could do 

I think it’ll be hard for Kalik to get a look in as CM is our most stacked position these days.

He’s definitely not a better player than Mooy, Rogic, Irvine, Hrustic, McGree, Genreau, Metcalfe so at best would be 8th in line, and even then it’s debatable if he’s better than other younger options such as Watts, Francois, Italiano, Brook etc who are all 5-6 years younger than 24-year old Kalik.

Good win for Elder. Plenty of minutes for McGree today. 

Great awareness from Dougall should see his header awarded the opening goal. Keeper loses it swiftly across for Dougall to latch a strong header onto it only for it to probably touch his team mate who  was wrongly given as offside. 5min later Dougall has a sweep shot blocked from penalty spot.

I've seen enough. The sharpness that Dougall has from playing every week plus the desire to achieve from Elder means both should start for Australia.

Elder's interview with Fox Sports podcast around a year ago had home come across as very well spoken for a footballer. He's highly educated and his outlook on things gave me the impression of captain material. It's a massive shame he's not been able to get in earlier due to injury.
