Well Ciricati off around 75min with what looks like cramp after going up for a header. I hope its only cramp I only watched from the 46th min but he looked very tidy with the ball and 2 great tackles. Was the main short pass option for Buffon. Parma 4 - 0 up and cruzing

Devlin & Atkinson starting - it looks like they're playing a back 4, which is the best set up for Atkinson. Time to show these Scottish arsewipes that you can play & Arnie for that matter

https://www.parmapress24.it/2022/02/26/parma-che-superman-bernabe-gioiello-circati-da-applausi-le-pagelle/Circati equal best rated player with an 8. According to the article great decision making, good goal line clearance, played with the elegance of a veteran. Lots of plaudits on twitter.

At the end of the match against Spal, Alessandro Circati 's comment in the press room. “It was a perfect, beautiful debut. With the whole team we played the perfect match, we gave everything, we ran and put our hearts on the pitch. It's a nice day. Buffon? That's where he always helps you, talks to you all the time and helps you a lot, even the boys who play in attack, the young, not only on the pitch but also in the locker room. When did I leave the field? I had cramps, I stopped for two minutes and then I continued even if not at my best, I did what I could to take the three points today and to fight with the team. What do I expect after such a debut? Nothing, in my opinion nothing will change. If I play with the first team I will be very happy, if I play with the Primavera I will be very happy and I always make myself available. Didn't it seem like you didn't feel the emotion? So many guys helped me, they calmed me down, then in the end I went out on the pitch, enjoyed myself and played football. My story? I was born in Fidenza, nearby, then a few months later I went to Australia with my family, mom, dad and my brother. I started playing football there, in the youth sector, and a year ago I arrived here in Parma. What great defender am I inspired by? I am inspired by Maldini, he was a left back but he also played in the middle, I am inspired by him. My father? He didn't even know I was going to play starter. Before every game he tells me that if I have to play I have to give everything and do what I can, but above all he always tells me that I have to have fun ". what a night for Circati! 4-0 on your debut in the centre of back 3, not bad. Lot of our guys playing in formations with back 3s not sure why we dont do it. We can fit in all the best of of our midfielders and removes need for actual wingers as we can play wing backs. Looks like he's good in the air too almost scored a header early.

Probably because CB is the position we’re lightest in, so it doesn’t make sense to base our gameplan on having 3 CBs on the field at all times. If anything, considering we are so strong in the CM department, I’m really surprised Arnie hasn’t got us playing the narrow 4-4-2 Diamond he famously used to much success with CCM.

really? when Harry is back we have denegek, souttar, sainsbury, circarti then you have JRB, courtney-perkins and rowles coming through.
Stoke, Middlesboro, Parma, Hearts, Frankfurt, Warta Poznań and even Accrington fucking Stanley all play with a back 3 or 5 and sains has played it plenty of times. That's most of our best players teams playing it most weeks. Then change them into a diamond 4-4-2? jesus. Who's our pirlo sitting at the base? Moozil? lol
How many wingers we got playing at these levels? who are actually scoring and starting? why do people want to make it harder for us to qualify?

It’s so frustrating atm 😡 you’re right about lack of quality wingers - Boyle is the only Roos winger close to international standard atm. Mabil out of sorts, Arzani gone missing? Tilio still developing. Leckie, Nabbout only AL standard… Arnold only seems to know 1 way of formation and very unlikely to experiment with wing backs/back 3 even if Wcup qualification depends on it 🙁

I also think Deng would be well suited to a back 3. Having said that, I have an open mind as to back 3 or back 4. For me it's mainly about getting our best players on the park in positions they are reasonably comfortable in. As for the number 6, is Isaias an option or is he too slow now? Asking Adelaide fans in particular.

Atkinson was fine - I watched about 30 mins of the game until he went off & he played ok. Wasn't dispossessed, passing was good & he did a few good crosses that could've easily resulted in a goal. One Muppet on the on the Hearts fan forum gave him a rating of 2/10 in a winning team - they're fucking morons. Oh and they love Cammy Devlin again - fickle fucks

I can't remember the last time we had two 18 year olds playing senior football in a top flight country let alone playing in Italy.
Impressive stuff.

We dont have many centre backs coming through unlike the midfield options which seem to growing each year. But Rowles, Jay-Rich and now this kid Circati, so its looking more promising but we probably need more improvement on that front also the striking options are still looking bare for my liking.

Kenny Dougall gets forgotten about again. 90 mins playing #6, in a 4-1 win in the championship. 2 assists, 80% passing accuracy, MOM with a 9.1 rating on FotMob. MOM a few games ago as well. The type of player we need just in front of the back 4 for the Socceroos!!

Yeah didn't say he was the best out there - he did his job, created a few chances and didn't have any defensive issues, so I would've only rated him a 6. A rating of 2 on the other hand is fucking ridiculous, in a winning team. Their fans are a pack of morons from what I can see

+x[quote]what a night for Circati! 4-0 on your debut in the centre of back 3, not bad. He's an excellent talent, as I noted in my list: https://forum.insidesport.com.au/3010791/NEW-2022-TOP-50-AUSTRALIAN-YOUTH-DETAILED-AND-RANKED. He has been dominant in Primavera 2, probably the best centreback or at least one of the best centrebacks. Good on the ball, good in the air, relatively quick, aggressive, good at covering. Will be a good player for years to come you'd have to think.
