Ryan McGowan also started for Livingston. +xTete Yengi came on in the 84th minute in the challenge cup, played LW and slotted a penalty in the extra time shootout. In my opinion his back to goal, hold up and link up game is possibly stronger than any other Australian centre forward. 2 goals for Iredale in Future Cup game. Don't think this is the Danish Cup itself but another competition and he needs to dust himself off.

+x+x18-year-old Ayman Gulasi has 5 goals in 3 games for Schalke’s U19s Previously at Macarthur FC playing for their NPL side, he left Australia and signed for German Giants Schalke 04 after impressing on trial last year. The attacking midfielder represented Australia’s U16s but, since his arrival in Germany, has played for Turkey’s U19s and last month made his debut for their U20 side. He's going to Turkey. He's under 30, and a attacking option, Popa would probably look at Elsey for a Socceroos call up before "chasing"actual players. Hard to blame the kid. Living in Germany would put him sharply in the eye of his mother country.... Straight from NPL (and an Aleague academy NPL at that) to Europe bypassing the Aleague ..... THATS the issue we face with any bright young talent with dual citizenship, forget trying to buy our way to better players like the other thread suggests.

+x+x+xIf he keeps up this run of form, he'll almost be at the level of Luke Brattan. to be fair Balard has been inconsistent in the eredivisie and his bad games have been pretty bad, while his best games are team of the week performances. He should learn in this league and be ready for us soon (albeit in a stacked position) robertson also has things to learn. Saw him beat two players playing out the back and then pass it back to the cbs when he had lots of time and space. His decision making hasn't caught up with his skills as yet Balard is already several classes above Brattan. It's the dropping of Nisbet that is totally doing my head in though. Brattan instead of last year's Johnny Warren medalist who is now turning heads in the SPL? I guess I can cancel my trip to the US in 2026. Yeah i worry too about some of the nonselections...hopefully it all works out

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xRoss County lead at HT. Nisbet rating well. I'm watching the game it's a Ross country home game and it's like 70% Celtic fans what up with that Dingwall has a population of 5000. That's the club your Z-league Messi has signed onto. The stadium holds 6000, while Glasgow has a population of ~ 2 million. It’s has a population like Collingwood going to play the local ALF club in Morwell. Glasgow has a population of around 500-600,000. You are incorrect. You are only counting the council area. GCC is all that counts, not the overspill areas, not covered by a G post code. that's not how we measure populations of cities in Australia This all started with your lame attempt at trolling So would you say Melbourne's population is 150,000? interesting question, last census check in '21 Melb CBD was 54,941 people for eg. I'm getting just shy of 150,000 on my end, but this is for the Melbourne City Council area (a bit more of a spread than the CBD): https://abs.gov.au/census/find-census-data/quickstats/2021/LGA24600All Australian capital cities + Wellington, Auckland, Newcastle and Gosford (being A-League sides, deciding to include them - and rounding to the nearest 'neat' number) Sydney: 211,000 Adelaide: 25,000 Brisbane: 1,240,000 Perth: 28,500 Hobart: 53,500 Darwin: 84,500 Canberra: 455,000 Newcastle: 169,000 Gosford: 346,500 Wellington: 216,000 Auckland: 1,740,000

more broadly, I think 99% of the clubs are players go to are clubs that have had an aussie in the past. I was thinking about this and how this implies that scouts are ineffective at finding talent in new markets.

anyway moving on re Aussies abroad..... I saw this article the other week re Celtic's massacre in the CL and it certainly made sense and I wonder why many of our own head to their shores.... Well I can only guess but one is the ease getting a spot compared to other EU leagues. Read away. Celtic’s humiliation exposes the miserable state of Scottish football | Celtic | The Guardian
