+xSt Pauli win again and are on a massive roll. At this trajectory they can hope to get closer to the Playoff week by week. Ryan starting. Elder starting vs WBA who are without Rogic. Weirdly fotmob doesn’t credit irvine with the assist

Weirdly fotmob doesn’t credit irvine with the assist Johnszasz said Metcalfe assisted. Probably why Fotmob didnt mention Irvine hahaa ;)St Pauli website - "Daschner was bang on target on the quarter-hour, however. From a throw-in on the right, Marcel Hartel passed to Connor Metcalfe in the middle and he teed up Daschner, who was surrounded by several opponents. The utility forward created space for himself on the edge of the penalty area with a neat move and a bit of luck - the ball came back to him off an opponent – and he struck a low drive into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box to open the scoring."

Hasn’t Metcalfe done it perfectly?
Young player with potential, stays in the A-league and plays 70+ games, becomes a hardened pro and one of the best in the league before moving. Moves OS and becomes a first team regular (in the Holy Trinity no less!!).
No one would be surprised to see him in B1 and a Socceroos starter in a few seasons time.
As much as the ones who leave early should be cautionary tales, the successful ones should be seen as examples too.

Deng is back to the bench in J1. Maybe didn't perform well enough in the last game.

I think the 70 plus game mark as a leading player is the hardening needed to then give it a go. Metcalfe is an intelligent one. His movement off the ball now is flourishing and this environment is teaching him so much.

Thurgate is surely one who should start looing abroad, like Metcalfe, he's served well in the A League and the next step is definitely there.

Brook bench.
Leicester on later vs Southampton. Stuttgart on later against Bayern. Doubt Kuol will feature.

Bouzanis apparently putting in a Birraz-like performance for Reading. Google gave him a 1.2 star rating.
Not quite a Birraz 1.1 star rating but close.

Burton are weak but lots of plaudits for a dominant display by Luongo. Burgess also solid at the back.
Bouzanis was on the receiving end of a big win for Boro and with Sheffield United losing they bridge the gap.
Behich and Birighitti in a 3:1 loss. Thankfully Twitter is pretty silent on Birighitti today with only the few knobheads scapegoating. Will have to wait for highlights.
Mabil got the final 20min in a win.

I know it is passe to talk of QPR on these threads, but it's been interesting to see the collapse of this team down toward the relegation zone over the past couple of months whilst Boro have taken almost all before them.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the machinations of the Championship ladder and seeing the rise of Boro. I didn't think they had a hope of automatic promotion, but it is almost in their grasp. Well played to them.

nice little bit of play from Kuol at the end, tried to chip the keeper I think lol - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mnqf2JgFt6Eat least he knows he needs to score to get into the starting 11, that should be the goal by end of year.

At least he's still got the confidence to take on a defender & have a crack. He's gone close to scoring a few times now, he just needs to get one to kick start his season. I think we were expecting him to be scoring every week when he moved over there, but he hasn't really been given a lot of opportunities so far.

He must be on thin ice at the moment. He took them over when they were mid table and they're now in the relegation zone without a win in 8 and 5 losses on the trot. I'm a bit shocked city have kept him on, they could surely afford to bring someone in that will easily keep them up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19mtm3_1LYMBouzanis against Boro. Nothing really at fault with the goals. Maybe his passing was wayward to get a low score let alone conceding 5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlNM-K4As-kUnfortunate for the third there against Birighitti but watching so many highlights this weekend they're very standard types of goals. AMB'S game. 2:0 loss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdbXwNMjEBc

The fifth goal was pretty poor. Weak hands and just fell without much commitment. I think a better keeper would have also done better with the 4th goal.

Scrambling to his left would've helped him get closer to the shot. Very far away from him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_kI-rI1dbcBilokapic getting his baptism of fire. second and third not the best. Life of a keeper.

Karacic starting. Genreau bench. Troyes Monaco ends 2:2 after and early lead say Monaco come back in the final 10 only for Troyes to equalise in added time.
