Breaking down the reported USWNT coaching shortlistNot sure where else to post this or if mentioned previously. Joe Montemurro is on the three person short list to coach the USNWT (along with Tony Gustavsson)

Does anyone know where Birighitti is? His wiki page says he left Dundee Utd at end of last season. However, Dundee Utd wiki page still has him listed as current player. Is he playing somewhere following transfer, contracted but not playing or quietly retired?

He may be living in Scotland and just training and waiting for the winter window.

Kuol bench vs Ajax. I think Ajax will be pumped to get into gear so hopefully they can lead by 1 and Kuol can come on the try and get something.

Ajax are so dodgy. Missing chances they'd usually convert. This game is poised for Kuol to come on as Ajax keep pressing forward. Players spread out and lots of room. Really hope he gets on early in second half.

Panos Armenakas is now at Phoenix Rising. He's made 56 appearances in the last 16 months and has got 5 goals and 13 assists. Good on him. It wasn't to be with the illustrious career but I'm glad he's been able to forge a career.

Kuol on for final 12 with Ajax 1:0 up. Needed earlier I think as their wingers were already exhausted. Ajax likely to sit deeper now too.

Frustrating cameo for Kuol with his teammates keeping it to the left when he was posted to the right. Midfielders weirdly kept passing it to the packed left side when the right back an Kuol kept making use of the space on the right. I also didn't enjoy Kuol just running ahead not viewing what his right back was doing once on the ball. More link up play needed.

It's not even an issue these players don't kick on as we get decent one later. Teague is finally starting to grow and we can watch him. Armenakas had some Nike Football promo videos or something doing tricks which hyped him up big time. I'm glad Alex Robertson has come through. It just shows a massive difference. A player who fits and image vs ones doing the hard yards on and off the pitch like Metcalfe.

We all knew he was a good player at City, but it started slowly for him at St Pauli & he wasn't getting a lot of mins intially. He must have had a massive pre season & busted his arse at training, as he's starting games now. He had his best game in a Socceroos jersey against England & he was great in the Cup game against Schalke. Didn't really rate him very highly in the Socceroo pecking order before the England game, but he's definitely changed my opinion of him.

Top Friday night in store. Irvine at Metcalfe starting and Iredale starting away to Düsseldorf.
I'm surprised the faith has been kept in Iredale. Not that he's been poor but the incumbent striker scored a late winner off the bench. Iredale starting works well to try and wear out the opponent in the first 60min.
With these recent starts, good link up play and a secondary assist, surely he's got to enter the next national team camp?

An early goal for Wiesbaden and secondary assist for Iredale. The scorer was the worst part by shanking but it just fits. Iredale sees the massive space in behind with his back to the defence and can thread it to the winger who crosses well for the scorer.
Iredale just got the ball 60m out all alone and went for a good long dribble before being shouldered off. I like the directness of his long runs on the ball.

2:0 Iredale assist. Nice run to a long ball and he uses the back of his head to nod it forward so the left wing back can latch onto it and run 30m to score.
Metcalfe with some really smart positioning lingering up top behind the man but being onside. Narrow right wing position tonight.

Cursed! Penalty Wiesbaden. Iredale rolls it and it hits the post.
Oh wait! It's to be retaken after encroachment. Love his team mates immediately came to him and said 'it's yours, have another go.' Slightly to the left and converted. Relief!
Top officiating for the penalty. Player gets smashed but ball rolls and ref with rugby ref calmness allows advantage then awards.
That's bloody fortunate though. An assist and secondary assist tonight but not making it 3:0 would've probably woken Düsseldorf up.

Hits the post on a penalty and a Fortuna player entered the 18 yard box before the kick. Iredale retakes the penalty and scores. Lol 0-3 to Wehen

Considering a jaw op in the last 12 months. Defending just clears the ball into Iredale's face like a heavyweight boxing punch. He's back up though. What an intense, highly involved half. Wiesbaden in dreamland.

Wiesbaden in dreamland. You've seen Iredale for quite a while now. I've never seen him play I don't think... What's he like? Duke mould? If so, Arnie's gameplan loves a Duke style player so could be an apt next of kin.

They won 3-1 and move up to 7th on the ladder. If he keeps starting surely he's called up next socceroos squad

If so, Arnie's gameplan loves a Duke style player so could be an apt next of kin. The off the ball work and back into the defence is like Duke. Duke is physically stringer but Iredale has quite the frame himself. I think Duke can dribble well at times but after about 3 seconds gets a bit lost with the feet. Iredale goes longer than that and has a glide to get around a man. Iredale is such a natural finisher too. This is evident in his goals across his career. He just hits the target. He's something of a Duke play and Taggart finishing combination. I'm so desperate to see him in the middle with Boyle and Goodwin out wide and McGree behind.

Highest ever level goal albeit a retaken pen but the secondary assist and the assist for the other two goals should see him in the team of the week. We simply can't afford him to become another Elder. I have faith because Arnold gave him game time against Arsenal while he was still a kid but bigger yet he was invited to Arnold's first foreign national team camp only to see the practice game cancelled.
