+x+x+xthe leicester v boro games shows how far we have come in the last few years. 4 aussies in the game, 3 on the field starting... two heavyweights in the CHP. Its very different from a few years ago when all we had was Ryan and that blonde guy who was playing in Austria lol I think Mcgree is a Premiership player, maybe consistentency his biggest problem. I think his biggest issue is that he is Australian. If he was English he would have been snapped up years ago. The other issue is that he always looks better when those around him are better as well. One of the reasons he looked poor under wilder past season. When you playing in another country you have to be twice better than their local players that's normal. If you are nearly as good as Harry Kewell 98/99 season you don't have to worry. EPL clubs will be chasing you.

Agreed you have to be better if u are foreign, particularly if u arent from a know footballing nation. We apply the same standard to a league foreigners. It sux but its life so we just have to work to make better players

Players like Robertson, Glover, JRB don’t have this problem

Jonathan Aspropotamitis starts as central defender for Pohang Steelers in ACL. He started in the last ACL game also.

Bottom Rotherham looked to have salvaged a point against Ipswich deep into injury time but Ipswich go the length of the pitch to score and win 4:3. Massive on a night Southampton have lost.
League 1 sees Bolton ahead of Portsmouth on goal difference and then the next two include Australians, Peterborough and Derby. I want Portsmouth and Bolton to go to. If Bilokapic manages to come back then hopefully he'll get a Championship chance.

Im talking 2015-16 when we literally had one one playing in big league except Ryan. Aaron was in the A-league.

+xThe craziest AA story of this season to me is that Middlesbrough’s first choice keeper Dieng has been back from AFCON for 2 weeks, and yet Glover is still being picked ahead of him for every match. Who would have seen that coming! Apparently he was injured and had to pull out of the Senegal AFCON squad https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/seny-dieng-afcon-injury-middlesbrough-28412778

Big Friday for Bundesliga 2 with St Pauli and Wiesbaden with games. Iredale posted something on social media which he suggests he's in the squad.

That's a very nice assist by Metcalfe running down the right wing. He runs about 15m to the put a hard low cross perfectly between two Kiel defenders and Hartel's run into the gap is also perfect. 2:0 away in the top of the table duel.
90 seconds later it's 3. The typical Irvine press and jockey sees the Kiel player pass wayward. Quick forward pass down the side sees their man with miles of space. He slots it himself despite Metcalfe hovering all alone square.

That's just beautiful. Quick possession sees Irvine sprint down the left and he crosses it through 3 defenders to Metcalfe who puts it away on the half volley to the near post. Tight angle with the keeper there too. It was about 5m diagonally away from the corner of the 5 yard box.

Wiesbaden game 1:1 with 20 left. 2 subs used. Game of a lower intensity with manager trusting the starters to pounce.

St Pauli hold on to win 4:3. Wiesbaden end up losing with quite a panicky attempt to try and salvage something.

+xMan seems like i missed a banger of a game. 7 goals, a goal and 2 assists between the pauliroos How was the quality,John? St Pauli were just so focused in first half and Kiel had a sort of stage fright. They did see a chance be kept out by a millimetre. Kiel slowly crept back but St Pauli were pretty poised. That Irvine Metcalfe combination goal was great to see. Metcalfe's assist just sound. Iredale saw a lot of deflections from opponents land that awkward bit away from his foot to latch onto much. I noticed he'd peel well away from his marker. Wiesbaden just panicked once they went behind so lots of long balls and indecision.

933 completed passes in the top of the table clash. Pretty quick! Also the xg was 2 but 7 goals scored. So great finishing
Saw the highlights and the aussie goal involvements. Some fine work
Feels like there are good news stories every week at the moment

https://youtu.be/Xm7lnB8kUrA?si=CZn2H4axaNHOhRqvGood highlights up. Worth watching before they get taken down. Just skip the silly intro. Bein sports Australia should have them up soon.
