Either come back to the ALeague, or call it a day. Apparently he’s bright so he’ll do alright post-football.

He was going to study/become a brain surgeon 🧠🤕

Rhys Williams scored a good goal but it was ruled out by VAR for handball. 4 minutes 30 seconds to make a decision. I'm still confused about "clear and obvious".. Didn't look bad in real time, nobody on the pitch complained.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

A number of postponements in England. Oldham off after an hour due to fog.

Full game for Dougall. Elder out with a knock but Hull still won. Iredale late off bench.

No Leckie. This will hopefully mean a loan and a free transfer away or even an immediate permanent transfer.

Not much info on lower German tiers where Iredale seems to be stuck in a league cancellation.

Wonder if Iredale was considered trying to get a loan back to the A League for this season - to get him some game time and put him in the window for the Olyroos? With his long injury break before this season, if he doesnt get game time soon he will be at the back of the queue. A shame as he is definitely one of our best u/23 strikers.

Saw Gersbach's name mentioned in another thread got me thinking what on earth is going on with him? Seems he can't get any minutes or bench spot at his club?

He is a player who has no where near reached their potential. Sad.

Any chance that if euro leagues go into a second lockdown soon (which is looking more likely for England), some of the aussies over there get a loan back here for 6 months? Especially guys who weren't getting much time in the first place?

With assistant manager Juanma Lillo watching on, eight EDS players were spotted in the first team training ahead of the United game. Pep Guardiola says he will turn to the academy this week, and that message clearly got through to the likes of Cole Palmer, Liam Delap and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who all looked motivated.

Centre-back Luke Mbete, fresh from appearing on the bench at Chelsea, was involved, as was Felix Nmecha. There also looked to be chances for midfielders James McAtee and Alex Robertson plus full-back Alpha Dionkou - a trio who have been impressive for the EDS this season but not yet involved in any first team squads.

There weren't enough players for a full training game, but one drill involved the youngsters pitted against the professionals who hadn't started against Chelsea. So the likes of Aguero, Fernandinho, Benjamin Mendy and Riyad Mahrez were on one side, trying to keep possession away from the youngsters, who seemed to relish the chance to show their more senior colleagues what they've got.

He won't play for England, he's proud of his Aussie roots. Plus as good as he is, he has too much competition for spots in the English team, where if he keeps on progressing as he is, he'll start making Socceroo squads sooner rather than later. They should pick him for the Olyroos right now

The truth is he has not made his debut yet, so we dont know who he will pick to play for, or if he is good enough to make it as a pro footballer. I will say though that his father and grandfather are former socceroos so that should count for something if he is good enough and deciding which nation.

ATM its a bit unfair to be picking a player who has no senior first team caps for any team for the Olyroos. The Olyroos really are the finishing school of the national team, not the development team.

That being said if he starts getting caps for City and doing well it changes the conversation

With all due respect, I think that's a pretty naive view, considering the challenge we'll have in getting him to pick us. Anyway, I think if you're good enough for the U23s of the richest club in the world then you're good enough for the Australia U23s in any case.
