+xWell spotlight is in mariners now they could probably get their biggest crowd in years next weekend Looks like their highest crowd at home is 19k in 08. Last few years was 12k You'd want this game to get between 12-15k it's a home semi final they are winning and the final would be in Sydney in their stats where they could also likely be the home team against city

I know city have no where the support like MV but for a semi that crowd number isn’t much to say a good crowd. It’s our Pro league a finals series and one of the best teams to watch nowadays. That figure is regular round numbers.

That figure is regular round numbers. They’ve been getting 5-6k all season. I wonder how they would be if they kept their name and colours as the Heart.

Do we have a date for when the 2023-2024 A league season fixtures will be announced?
Interested to see where some of the games are allocated to be played, especially for Western United and for Macarthur

Wookie I know you keep a lot of stats on rating, and if you still do I have a couple of questions, and if you can shed some light on them it would be appreciated.
Q 1
Last night on the Seven news they gave Sevens ratings for the Matilda's match [2.6 million Australia wide] and then gave the Australia wide rating across all platforms. {4.5 I think or could have been 4.3}
What surprised me was the non Seven ratings were roughly 75% of the FTA rating.
Is the roughly 75% of live broadcast sporting events streamed rather than watch on FTA common...
Q 2
A mate and I were discussing yesterday the fall in overall rating of shows on FTA generally, he then told me this
"""I think they have a new method of calculation, they were talking about it on ABC radio a couple of days ago. They have an actual broadcast number for live viewing and a separate number that combines live broadcast, streaming and recording (I assume on foxtel) over the next 7 days. They were saying ABC has a new show that only gets about 200k live but over 7 days is about 1.1m"""Other
The same mate above watches Ch Seven on a Ch Seven via the 7plus app, and I have no idea if this is counted in FTA or streaming numbers...
Cheers, and hope you can shed some light as the numbers collection world seems way more complex than before...

The ALM kicks off again next month. What will attendance be like this season? Last season saw a 41% rise in average attendance over the home and away part of the season. This followed rises of 30% and 40% for the AFL and NRL respectively as fans returned post pandemic. This current season saw further rises of 18% and 20% for the AFL and NRL. Will we match or beat those rises as the pandemic moves further into the past? That would take our average attendance back to around 9,000. Would that be a pass mark for this season?

Lets say that a 9,000 average attendance will be a pass mark and 10,000+ will be an excellent result.

+xLets say that a 9,000 average attendance will be a pass mark and 10,000+ will be an excellent result. I'd say 8,000 would be a good result. Really depends on how many MV fans trickle back in. It's hard to cover the lows from WU and MAC unless the bigger clubs are doing some seriously heavy lifting. WU is approved to play at the regional ground which pretty much drops the anchor on crowds (but is on balance a good thing for the club itself to do, now they just need to get a fucking name).

That is unders in my opinion, should have got about 12000. The way the Goodwin transfer was handled upset a lot of people.

MacArthur vs Brisbane 3002 Sydney FC vs Melbourne 14586
If the Bulls can get 3-4k a game and maybe 6-7k when they play the Wanderers and Sydney FC I think that’s about as good as it’s going to get for them.

Did you watch the game? If they continue to play like that it'll only go down. The only thing they have on their side is a couple of the teams I watched are just as bad.

Yes I did, attracting 3000 to a professional game should not be too much to ask for.
