+x+xWU vs Nix: 2,528 last night in tassie Who ever chose this fixture for Thursday in Tassie deserves to be shot out of a cannon i know it really should have been scheduled as the friday night marquee fixture. That would easily have pulled in over 3k.

+xOver 10k at mariners vs Sydney their highest crowd for the season The thing about areas like Gosford people live far from the stadium. Family friendly times have a positive uptick. It astounds me why we can’t just play games that are best for the community they are in and delay for a tv audience. If it’s an hour later to broadcast who gives a shit. There is an atmosphere and that is fundamental to how football should be watched.

Cue the usual "A League is dying" posts. https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/western-united-ceo-responds-after-lowest-ever-a-league-crowdbest line from their CEO was: “We’d have to look at [Knights Stadium] again but we have to work with APL Co to know what works are needed to make it A-League suitable.” Never mind, they got 40 more people in at AAMI than the "Kingz" did 17 years ago ..... progress I suppose?

Western United should not be in the A League- letting them in was the most stupid decision ever.
Hell, even South Melbourne H. would have been a better choice.

+x990 people at the Western United vs Jets game last night. it might be easy to jump on this ------- but the aleague is dying. Seriously - i have seen bigger crowds at local girls cricket matches. this is a big worry. once the stink sets in - and it has for WU - it rarely goes away.

Seriously - i have seen bigger crowds at local girls cricket matches. this is a big worry. once the stink sets in - and it has for WU - it rarely goes away. A much bigger concern is the crowd this coming Saturday for the Sydney Derby. Ticket sales look very very poor to me. It is one thing for the WU Monday night game to get under 1k, it is more of a concern that the Syd Derby (at prime time with a local rivalry between two established clubs that have previously drawn very large attendances) seems to have fallen so much. Hope I am incorrect.

Western United brand value is completely “Tarneitished”
Personally I dont see anything more than a regional community sporting hub being built there minus the stadium
Congrats to the arrogant and ignorant imbeciles at the FFA and the club owners for bringing in another 2 bullshyte franchises when there were more logical/obvious options available.

+xSorry, but more than 10000 empty seats there. Sorry, 20,330 official attendance. Watched replay and looked about right. Fabulous atmosphere. Amazing so many attended with the scare of Covid still rampant. Meanwhile, recently somewhere else in the Melb NPL are having kittens over their derby at 1500. Not criticising, it’s a great number for the little ones.

Hard to do with Covid and weekday fixtures. Watched Perth vs City with 0 attendance. Watched the EPL, Serie A and others with 0 attendance. The influence of Covid cannot be underestimated. It’s not the only factor of course but a significant one.

AFL having no issues drawing crowds in Melbourne, nor are the Melbourne Storm.

For example, Arsenal post anything between 59900-60000 every week when clearly their are thousands of empty seats visible.( when they were allowed to attend ).
