+xBrisbane what the hell man? The move north has proven to be a disaster. Poor venue that excludes half the supporter base and the widely held perception of absentee owners running the club into the ground. Tbh, as a long running Roar supporter I believe that the only thing that can save the club is new owners and a move back to Suncorp.

Brisbane are the big worry. Macarthur and WU aren't worth worrying about. Basket cases both and the A League would be well rid of them.

+x+x+xThis week the boffins scheduled home game for Western Mafia Developers and the Macarthur Bullsh1tters. Good thing they also scheduled a Sydney Derby to offset their pathetic numbers. Take both of these 2 Gallop/Fox Franchises and the average attendances across the league go up. The decision making was handed to the new FA, and they made the final decision, not Gallop. Of course the old FFA may have made the same decision. You have been repeating this for years but it's so disingenuous. The bidding process was all but complete and there no doubt would have been consequences for bailing on both at the last minute. Your beloved Lowy and Gallop didn't do everything wrong as some people suggest but to take you seriously you have to be able to admit when they did Well I'm quite aware through past experiences that when one person, party or group leaves an organization and provides handover documents, reports or proposals on a particular matter, the new management team will review it and review it thoroughly particularly on key issues. They would have had no hesitation in making their own amendments or contribution. And if they considered any proposal unsatisfactory, I have no doubt (like any half decent organization would) delayed the announcement to ensure it reflected their intentions and new direction. The successful bidders were not advised, at least not formally or publicly, before the handover. There is no evidence to suggest (as you did) that there would have been consequences had the FA made changes. Hard decisions are in made by many industries time and time again, with little or no consequence under similar legal circumstances. No one makes the right decision all the time, and that goes for Lowy and Gallop. However in response to a specific post, my point was that it's wrong to assert that it was beyond the control of the new incoming FA and all the fault of the old FFA. If you think otherwise, that's your prerogative.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+xSydney got 16,604 which is pretty good Carrying the league right now. Ok let's not develop a ego lol Well, it's somewhat true. Wanderers don't seem capable of pulling 10k+ to a game, even on a beautiful Sunday arvo, Victory have shot themselves in the foot, perhaps for good this time. The only other clubs that seem to be doing pretty well are Adelaide and Mariners. I'm surprised we've sustained such decent numbers given our form, but the new stadium is fantastic, and with improved transport options it makes you wonder what sort of crowds we'd be getting if the league was in the position it was in 6 or 7 years ago. Because SFC supporters are as dumb as the football their team play. How long did it take you to think up that mind numbing shite ? Probably not long as everything he posts is the same one dimensional negative bullshit. Why he bothers I'll never know. He didn't even think to use chat gpt

+x+x+xThey could play the next five grand finals in Melbourne or any other state and i would still go and watch my team. Australian football fans starting to look very plastic. So, manufacturing a so-called “festival of football” isn’t plastic? We know for sure there will be another theatre going A-League All Stars game. That’s as plastic as you can get. I mean I hate the decision with a passion and I keep remembering when I check the ladder every week that it means even less now. This will likely make winning the premiers plate more prestigious than the championship, which will make the Eurosnobs happy I guess. HOWEVER, there is no way I am going to not go watch the team I have watched for 18 years every fortnight because of decisions made by administrators. I have gone back to games, but I am permanently boycotting all A-League, Socceroos and Matildas games in Sydney until the decision is overturned or the contract lapses (excluding the WWC, which is sanctioned by FIFA of course).
Maybe if Victory developed some sort of identity other than riding the "we are the biggest club" wave for so long it would help keep people there in tough times. In a strange way, I almost sorta agree with you. Being the biggest club IS part of our identity. Going to away days with hundreds (sometimes thousands) of mates is part of our culture. But those days are likely over now, so we may need to adapt.I look at your team and coach and see no reason why someone in Melbourne would feel any connection with them besides the fact you like football and Broxham has been around a long time. Aren’t you an Adelaide fan? That’s why you don’t get it. I had a connection from day one because we had a team me and my mates could follow together as opposed to the tribal nature of supporting different AFL teams (You’re less likely to get that in Adelaide with less sporting teams on a national scale). From there, you make a bigger circle of friends from meeting people at away days (because Football supporter culture is different/superior to other sports), and that connection just grows and grows. ^^^

Maybe as a Crow-eater I expect to be shafted by the eastern states and it's harder to swallow as a Victory fan after 17 years of a "we ARE the league, oh if it weren't for us..." mentality

+x+xVictory have shot themselves in the foot, perhaps for good this time. Honestly, sometimes I question whether opposition fans understand Victory fans. You seem to think the derby incident is the reason for our dramatic crowd drop. Well, it is in terms of how the majority of Victory fans who did nothing wrong are being treated… with the ridiculous ticketing and other stakeholders tarring us all with the same brush. But I'm telling you, the main reason is the APL decision. I would suggest something along the lines of: - 60% APL decision to play the GF in Sydney. - 30% Anger at the treatment of innocent fans - 10% Performances on the pitch. They could play the next five grand finals in Melbourne or any other state and i would still go and watch my team. Australian football fans starting to look very plastic.
