+xWookie I asked you this on another thread, will ask again as you may not have seen it. In an early match Australia played, Seven had an audience I think of 2.6 and the overall reported audience across all platforms was 4.7 ... Meaning the non FTA viewership was roughly 75% of the FTA viewership. My question is.... the app 75% add on to the FTA numbers, is this common today across most broadcast sports events... Reported audience was reach - its viewers on fta who watched for a minute. We dont have any information on Optus numbers, other than the fact that the Canada game was the 17th highest broadcast on Optus Sport ever.

Quote from News.com.au The round of 16 contest pulled in more viewers than last year’s AFL and NRL Grand Finals while also taking down the State of Origin. More than 3.5 million watched the dominant display on Channel 7 – 3.18m on TV and 385,000 on the 7plus streaming service. Not only did it leave every other sporting code in its dust, it toppled every major reality show, becoming the highest audience for any television show so far in 2023. If we go a step further the Matildas game last night outrated every NRL Grand Final and State of Origin since 2016, while it toppled five of the past seven AFL Grand Finals. Seven’s coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ has reached 9.25 million broadcast viewers plus another 1.67 million on 7plus.

Incredible numbers from last night. 2.4 million FTA metro..... For perspective: AFL Grand final 2022 - 2.18 million metro State of origin 2023 - Between 1.48 and 1.98 million metro NRL 2022 grand final - 1.67 million metro Socceroos v Argentina (at 6am ish) - 0.964 million metro
They are crazy numbers! And I watched it on Optus....
