I hope so mate but from the tone of the article "support our goalkeepers" sounds to me like "might get on the pine in a cup game" I like Matty but our first choice keeper is now a 3rd choice stringer at Arsenal......

He’ll probably be second choice and will probably play in the cups.

BHA will probably go under so if he can show he is decent enough he might get a permeant move and live the London life

3rd choice ? He will be 2nd choice.  Runnarsson was always seen to be 3rd choice and a project player . Only got him in due to Brentford saying no to our approach for their keeper

Hell play cup games and Europa league. Runnarsson was always considered 3rd choice by us and a project player. Only reason he became 2nd choice is due to emi leaving and our perfered target wasn't for sale

in all seriousness hope this works out for him. Was def worth a gamble, was not going to ply at Brighton anyway. So at the very least it should make finding a new club easier if Arsenal isn’t a good fit

That makes sense then, hopefully he can do well with his limited chances.

Riding the pine at Arsenal > missing the match day squad at Brighton. Plus, it's a six-month loan and now he can say he's been on the books at his childhood club. If he needs to move on after that, he'll always be able to say that.

At the end of the day it was clear as day he was never going to start again at BHA unless Potter got the chop so why not have a crack at Arsenal and at least be second choice with some opportunities in cup ties.

Think Ryan had it on with his managers misses(jokes)...only thing I can think of that would explain the sudden and dramatic ostracising.

The allure of the big club make seem like a good move, but in all honesty this likely won’t end up being the best decision. Big clubs are often a fast track to career stagnation.

Hopefully he does get a chance, but a nice to the continent may have been a better move.

Nah potter didn't rate him for some reason. Potter has rubbed a lot of Brighton fans wrong.

A move he had to take. Supported them as a Kid and gets the chance to see if he can make it at a big club. I hope it works out for him.

Runarsson is finished at Arsenal. They're trying to sending him on loan so Maty will be second choice.

I'm sure he and his family are settled in South East England so it certainly makes sense on lifestyle grounds, however as he's only 28 I do worry for the Socceroos' sake; Schwarzer was much later in his career when he made his similar move to Chelsea at the ripe old age of 40.

Needless to say those that eschewed Langerak due to him being the number two keeper at a big club and advocated for Ryan who was playing regularly, albeit in a smaller league will be reaching for the Uno reverse card right about now lol
