The Future Wander Women (FWW) squad has been finalised with 34-players being selected to take part in the 20-week program at Wanderers Football Park.

188 young female players attended the trials over two weeks with Wanderers Academy Technical Director and coaching staff watching over selections along with FWW head coach Linda Khamis and Wanderers midfield ace, Libby Copus-Brown, as assistant coach.

Khamis, sister of Wanderers striker Leena Khamis, holds a B-Licence and was previously a coach in the Football NSW institute program brings a wealth of experience in developing young female players.

Copus-Brown, a standout player this season for the Wanderers, will be an important influence for the 34-players selected as they develop as footballers over the coming weeks.

The free 20-week training program aimed at female participants aged 14-17 years is supported by the Wanderers Foundation and contributors including ICC Sydney, ABC Radio Sydney and Wanderers W-League partners Intermain and Western Sydney University.

A positive piece. Hopefully they find a diamond or two.

A positive piece. Hopefully they find a diamond or two.

I hope the idea catches on with other clubs and it happens every season.

The program was a precursor to the Wanderers joining NSW NPLW2 due to restructuring of the competition.
Up to the announcement of the restructure, only the Jets (NPLW 1)  and the Central Coast Mariners (NPLW 2) in Football NSW competitions with the other Teams with W-League teams shut out.
Football politics lol
