+xI rejoice anytime United get beaten and with all the build up the last season and money spent again to be done this game by a spurs on a rebuild a aussie gaffa behind the helm is brilliant ! Bravo Hey bud..... dont know about you but Im thinking about getting a Szoboszlai portrait tattooed on my chest .... as soon as I work out how to pronounce his name :) Very impressed.

Like other have said, great second half by Spurs..... Kulusevski and Bissouma in particular are delightful to watch. Maddison seems to have been a masterstroke signing so far.... but United were almost disjointed and a little unlucky..
Its going to be a fun ride for Spurs fans I reckon although a coupe of disastrous results lie ahead.....

Saw the last 20 some delicious passing from spurs but a couple of turnovers that’d cost them when they’re playing a good side

so annoyed I fell asleep at half time... ETH is a fraud... Outclassed by Ange.
United had their chances but so did Spurs. Could of been 3 or 4 nil.

+xOptus Sports highlights really make it look like Man U had the most chances of the game, esp first half, but Spurs fans all sound like they owned the game Interesting that the second highlight they show is the Rashford header even though it was shown in the coverage he was offside and it would not have counted if it went in. Fernandez should have put Man U up 1-0 with his header that went over. Vicario also made some excellent saves that are not shown. Man U were the better team in the first half but apart from the Antony chance Spurs dominated the second half.

+xLove that. Two Spurs players hurt in box down the other end but Spurs keeper gathers a long ball then goes to roll it to go toe to toe again only for ref to stop game. United probably should've had a penalty for a handball in the first half. I've seen those given and the shot did go directly to the somewhat extended hand. I have seen them given but I don't think they should be. Romero was far too close to react and he needed his arms out to maintain balance while he reached to block the ball. I think it was an excellent decision.

+x+xSpurs win 2:0 and really wiped the floor with United. Man Utd could have it killed in the first half though, not clinical im a UTD fan with Anthony on the Wing and Rashford as our 9 - we wont go no where Ganarcho is also not ready to start Mason Mount is not a 6 our manager is trying to fit players into positions that dont work or they are not good enough to play Spurs deserved to win - Ange deserves credit becuz Bissouma/Maddision looks world class in his system however he needs to replace Richarlison as the blokes hopeless

Just the start at home Ange needed. Puts some credit in his bank for the bumpy times that will arise. Fans already right singing his name.

Wow 2:0 Spurs on 83. Perisic rolls it and Davies kind of miskicks it and it nicks the defender and rolls into the goal. Great build up play.
Spurs have put in a wild 30min and United haven't been close except for the post earlier on.

Top spell for Spurs now. I think their fans are shocked and delighted and the endeavour. Near toying and United blocking the close shots. As we know with Ange ball, it's common to overstretch and get bitten.

United go straight down and hit the post. Spurs come back again, near toying, have shots blocked or passes just that bit off.

Ange clearly likes Sarr and he rewards the selection with a goal to give Spurs the lead.

Tottenham linked with Gnonto now. He's a talent but I don't see him as being that top tier talent the top teams need. I'm also a jaded Leeds fan and quite happy for him to sit around sooking until his contract runs.

Spurs have apparently been linked with Gift Orban, supposedly worth 30 million. Irakunda is 4 years younger and sure he hasn't scored in the champions league but he fits Ange's system and is one for the future imo. Gift Orban was playing in 2nd tier Norway just last year.

Crazy how Brighton now have 130m in the kitty for spending. To think there are some really good players out the for 5m. Moneyball effect.
League Cup vs Fulham. Keeps the intensity up. Would've liked an away against a lower tier club.

+x+x+xI don't spend a lot of time watching the EPL except for the various highlights packages but I did watch last nights match because I have the Optus for the WWC but that was not much chop. First game of the season, lowly team, new manager and all that BUUUTTTTT, and flame away, I prefer the A League IF it's played in front of good crowds. Good for Ange and good luck for his season. Will keep an eye on it. To be honest, I wouldn't flame you for that opinion AT ALL! In fact, I think the A-league could become a far more compelling competition IF clubs were allowed to forge their own direction/identity and create a true affinity with the fans. The EPL for all its grace, has lost its way in recent years with the amount of foreign ownership in the league. It's lost touch with the everyday supporter. It's a bourgeoise league now owned by foreign powers, oligarchs & venture capitalists. My take is there is a vocal corner of the Spurs supporter base that wants Enic/Levy out in exchange for Saudi/Qatari/Omani ownership which would probably spell the end of Ange. This contingent of fans will not rest until they have a "Celebrity Manager" in charge with a squad of overpaid, 100mil GBP midfielders and strikers. Sadly, I think that is EVERY club now.... Whether thats EPL or Aleague..... I cant remember who said it last night but discussing Spurs "purse" now that they have sold off Kane and the fact that money is great but who is left to buy with it? Every player is now valued at over 100 mil pounds in England. It's fraudelant.

Watched Spurs last night they looked fast and freash with lots of passing and fwd play- stock standard 'Ange Ball' i actually think they 'deserved' the win they were largely the better team and the pen was SUPER soft however Brentford should of had a 3rd.... I wonder if Kane was there how the game would of gone as Richarlison looks like he isnt cut out for it

+x+xThat was nowhere near Angeball. Way too slow, far too many touches on the ball, too static, completely useless wingers. These players are in for a rude shock if they think that's what Postecoglou expects. Exactly this. Its also harder against teams that sit back and counter. I'm sure United will come to play, which should make next week interesting. Low blocks can be countered with wingers that are two-footed and can go inside/outside of the opposing fullback. Son & Kulu are not those type of players unfortunately.

+xPostecoglou is a shrewd operator. I think he'll find a way. Can't teach an old dog new tricks. He'll have to ship out the old dross if they don't comply. That is Levy lets him.

+xThat was nowhere near Angeball. Way too slow, far too many touches on the ball, too static, completely useless wingers. These players are in for a rude shock if they think that's what Postecoglou expects. Totally agree. There was about 3 players who were close to the mark but none actually made it. The fullbacks were coming inside to make an overload but they were simply ignored most of the time. One of them picked up a loose ball and scored though. Crosses kept coming in half-arsed in the air, "in the mixer" style rather than hard low and directed. When it was cut back low there was nobody anticipating and moving. The forward line seemed lost for long periods and at times forgot they had to press with authority not just amble up to block space. The right side defence really didn't know how to position for a faster winger. The goals they gave up were stupidity rather than systemic. Perhaps a penalty that really was a dodgy var call at best. Other was nothing special. Only scored one from open play but at least it came from movement of ball and players. They have a long way to travel yet. Richarlison needs to watch how Kyogo and Berisha moved to score goals. He is clearly very talented but was invisible to his suppliers. Probably come good. The fans will be doing the usual: "It's entertaining but we will give up more goals than we score (never ever looking at the Ange-ball stat of consistent lowest against goals). He'll have to adjust here because this is a bigger league than he's ever played in. Until we start managing games we will just be giving away points. I see what he's trying to do but he needs a plan B. The players will never be able to keep up at this rate. He will have to get subs on earlier." And on it goes. On the last, I've noticed at the beginning of the season he makes his subs later and later to get more work into the legs of the starters. It's later on that he starts to rotate and rest them. They won't have an easy time at training this week methinks.

+xyes MSC I suppose I have a 2nd or 3rd club to have more interest, infact I do for as mentioned its surreal having a aussie gaffa in the EPL all my years following and some...... I liked hearing comments about him by the pundits be it positive negative, its just so weird but nice as well. Hoddle did question will his style of play survive for as he said the SPL is nothing compared to EPL, especially defending, he doesn't think so BUT IMO its just 1 game and how many weeks prior. F all to mould any team - besides Brentford are no mugs they finished 9th 1point behind spudz and a far better GA - if it wasn't for the Kane goals who knows. Every top flight team they face they know defend defend defend sit back and hit on the counter, plain to see this game. Frank has done a great job with this club and limited budget, I admire his work. I actually was impressed by the movement out of the back to mids, Brentford condense really quick hard to penetrate hence why Son/Richarlson were out of the game. United @ home is gonna be a real tester coming up. Yeah agree mate, thats the one for me...... Brentford was like dipping your little toe into the water, United at home is going to be a huge wake up call..... Only problem now (following two clubs) is that I feel asleep during the Liverpool game's second half and today Im like a bear with a sore head..... hahahah farkin football.
