+x+xNinkovic has announced his departure from Sydney FC. Sounds like they didn't offer him a contract. The club press release is a bit interesting. Not the usual "thanks for your service" message. https://sydneyfc.com/news/club-statement-milos-ninkovicThis is yet another symptom of the salary cap. I guarantee if there was no cap he would get another year at SFC so the fans could give him a proper send off. I'm reminded of when Archie left MV. It’s more like the situation when Eugene left us. Club felt the player should retire or at least have a reduced role on reduced terms. Player thinks they can still contribute meaningfully. I have to say that I do think Ninko’s time is up.

I’d happily take him at AU for a season or two to provide some midfield depth whilst we bring through more youngsters. The club seems to have done well with such arrangements in the past, where veterans can provide their best in patches, showing the way for younger players keen to stamp their mark on the first eleven.

'Ninko' signed a three year contract everyone was lead to believe, when Macarthur fc came in, when he apparently nearly signed to go there. That means there is one year left on his contract so another club would have to buy it out. Otherwise, that means his third year is null n'void.

Perhaps the club's hierarchy didn't think he was worth the $$ he was currently on. With or without the salary cap. It does happen in football. And it isn't a bad thing. Club has people that needs to make decisions on what salary people are worth in the club. And in most industries. Just because they could pay him more without a salary cap doesn't mean they should.

Exactly. Clubs have to make these decisions. Sometime they are right. Sometimes they are not. I think in Adelaides case they went with Izzo as his replacement. Probably the right decision?? In Ninkos case, definitely worth a reduction of wages if he was to stay. Wasnt the player he used to be. Players mostly do not like to believe it.

Would it be possible the cash is better in the East? Yes. But it still doesn’t mean it’s a good move from a football perspective. So many players think the grass is greener only to flop when they could’ve stayed at Adelaide and fulfilled their potential. Happens so often.

Will the departures of Yengi, Mo Toure and Dukuly mean that Musa Toure might be given a chance in the squad next season?
Also noting that both Goodwin and Brook were on loan, that only leaves Ibusuki, Blackwood, Bernardo and Irankunda as signed frontline options right?

I also think he’s an attacking mid too. Asad Kasumovic will be the biggest beneficiary especially now that he’s had a few months in a pro set-up. My understanding is that Brook and Goodwin are likely to sign permanently but that relies on Goodwin getting out of his Saudi contract.

Jovanovic might get a look in during pre-season and Kasumovic will probably get more opportunities. Not a big fan of Madanha or Mo Bility although both have potential.

CCM have released Miller, Tongyik, Smith, Bozanic, Hatch and Muller. No surprises there.
City have released Colakovski.
Miller has been linked with Macarthur, Smith to Victory, Bozanic to Wanderers and Colakovski to Perth.

+xGeez what happened with tongyik he was doing great at city then mariners Got a cap too. Hall and Rowles were good for CCM. Did he have a slight injury? I really hope to see him starting at a club ahead of a shabby import not of the grade. I hope for a bit more of a fair spread with good local players next season and the imports being of quality over quantity.

Miller to Macarthur is fine and in two years he'll be SPL.
