+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xWhat will a friendly achieve a week out if we do really poorly in it? i read some 'dumb' comments on here but this one takes the cake why would playing the game we are going into a major competition be relevant prior to the major competition... fuck me why do we even play at all might as well get guys working a coles to make a team send them to Qatar it isnt like football requires, fitness, skill, tactics and organisation which all needs to be completed in a head to head setting.... Fuck me, you're stupid. Why the fuck would to play a professional game, open yourself up doubt from your own players, media and fans. Arnie hasn't even had 24 hours to work with the players, the players are most likely drained from travel, correcting sicadian rythems, and dealing with a foreign environment. Not to mention the added physical pressures on the players bodies because of the travel. Devlin said yesterday they hadn't even had a full team training run together because the final players were getting in to camp yesterday But let's put half a team out, suffering from jetlag, and recovering from injuries, that haven't even trained together because you think....... Not doing so is stupid. Fucking genius What the fuck do you expect to learn from a friendly in this environment? Neck up, parrot. You sound like fucking clown. lmao hit a 'nerve did I' im sorry but you are one of the dumbest posters here, this might amaze you but the squad is made of 23- players if a few of them are nursing injuries you 'dont need to play them in a friendly' ..... i feel like you have never watched football or played it in your life.... it 'actually' gives you an idea of the depth of the squad which considering so many players have bearly played for the nation team might of been a good idea i think you know your comment 'was fucken dumb' now your backs to the wall trying to defending it. anyway.... for anyone saying we are 'used to the climate' so we dont need friendlies makes ZERO sense consider both Saudie and Iran have been playing matches i feel like they would be way more custom to the conditions Qatar also played multiple games in the prior month.... in the end of the day im not 'GA' or part of the FA it is 'their call' but i think it is pretty shit we got Matildas playing a fair few games but the Socceroos just prior to a world cup have nothing matter of fact the last world cup level opposition we played was Saudie Araba in march a nd the last time we played a team in the top 50 outside of Asia was the last world cup in russia in which the squad has changed a lot since then. If that is an 'acceptable' fact for you then you're a fucken idiot i could name a single nation at Qatar where that is true for Bar Australia....the FA have dropped the ball It was actually 22nd June this year. Peru is ranked 23rd in the world. The last tine I looked at a map Peru is a long way from Asia. fair point - bar fifa sanctioned games that point still stands our FA have organized nothing - we only played Peru due to failing to qualify directly not due to the FA making 'any effort' - i will admit im shocked they were 'ranked so highly' matter of fact if you take away fifa Sanctioned games when was the last time we played a top nation in a friendly Greece/England in 2016? this is a legit question does anyone know....i cant remember i know we have played sides like Holland, Serbia etc in the past but it feels like ages ago.... anyone want to update Colombia 27-03-18 0-0 at Craven Cottage. Colombia was ranked 12 or 13 at the time. is there a single other nation at Qatar that has had this long between drinks regarding there FA being so lack-luster in organizing matches of quality for their national team your essentially talking 4 years since the FA got off their ass and did something Cameroon. Poland. fair play then lets see how Aus, Poland and Cameroon go this world cup Australia- final 16 Poland- final 16 Cameroon- failed to qualify for 16, but did beat the World Num. 1. is the 'round of 16' the end of the tournament ? simply question yes or no the other 14 sides that made the rd of 16 played a bunch of friendlies....so what's your point ? the world cup ends in 3 weeks assess the situation then

You dont risk injuries etc when you dont need too.... Credit to Australia and GA we have done well ill hold that for now but unless one of these nations make it to the final 4 i'd say it is not a pass - it is poor prep ill ask you a question again is the rd of 16 the end of the world cup - if the answer is No then STFU and wait your turn 'Bump'

Only 19 teams played a friendly before the WC. These were: Argentina, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia. Ecuador, Germany, Ghana, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Saudi, Serbia, Korea, Spain, Switzerland. Of these, 8 teams made it out of the group. So that's 8 out of 19. This means that 8 teams that advanced did not play a friendly.

This means that 8 teams that advanced did not play a friendly. i honestly couldnt tell you But you called me a moron how many times? this is why you get zero respect around here aha

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xWhat will a friendly achieve a week out if we do really poorly in it? i read some 'dumb' comments on here but this one takes the cake why would playing the game we are going into a major competition be relevant prior to the major competition... fuck me why do we even play at all might as well get guys working a coles to make a team send them to Qatar it isnt like football requires, fitness, skill, tactics and organisation which all needs to be completed in a head to head setting.... 1. is the 'round of 16' the end of the tournament ? simply question yes or no the other 14 sides that made the rd of 16 played a bunch of friendlies....so what's your point ? the world cup ends in 3 weeks assess the situation then Wait, what is this? Only 19 teams played a friendly before the WC. These were: Argentina, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia. One thing's for sure, regardless of how far we end up going in this WC we can't afford a subsequent period of inactivity until the Asian Cup qualifiers - FFA should be organising friendlies for every int'l-window, ASAP :exclamationmark:
It doesn't have to be the full-strength XI at all; it can easily be a solely ALM-based squad. Play against New Zealand, Belize or the Central African Republic..makes no diff. to me; hell, just play an 'Australia vs Australia A' match/series if worst comes to worst...

+xIt's a master plan. Actually a stroke of genius. We are going to lure the opposition into a false sense of security by thinking we are no good and also depriving them the opportunity to get a look at us before the game.
 :D

Next fifa window is March. I'm sure we'll be using it for resting. A UK camp wouldn't go astray with introducing Watts, JRB, Brook to the set up and playing available nations there.
