+x+x+x+x+xThe only hope now is the NST becomes as, if not more, popular as the A League and they're dragged kicking and screaming. Piece of piss. It's what all the REAL football fans in the country want after all. Like you mentioned in the other thread one day I'm just not going log on anymore (as many have done in the past) this is whats happenning to the real devoted supporter even right ? Is it though? Or is it this forum/social media where people just go to yell at other people even for liking the same thing in a slightly different way. I like ice-cream. Me too, ice-cream in a cone on a hot day. yum. A cone? What the actual fuck you dumb cunce lol. Pardon? Bowl or nothing you stupid racist fuck, goose step into poland why don't you hehehe It's no where near that bad. 95% of it is fine. Your posts are so deluded aha sorry, couldn't help myself

+x+x+x+x+xthe ball is in Capital Football/CU being they have a ALW squad first up. - Canberra Croatia
- Gungahlin United
They both are in the EOI, have far more chance to survive long term IF one of them get passed the NFP. If not maybe next time. Being here, for Canberra to have any successful side in the top flight(s), it's either a unified approach, or let the clubs have a free for all to get promoted/accepted. There's no point having a franchise, if local clubs can immediately earn themselves into the same league) APL want around $25mil to attain a license. Gangahlin and Croatia won't stump up that sort of commitment. The new 'franchise' will have about five stakeholders. Its no contest. I think even SM Hellas stopped at $5 million last expansion bid.I guess the little fish will continue to be left behind. This number gets smaller and smaller every time you excrete your opinions Paulie..... Youz prove the figures from the little club, machine gun man. Who at one stage reckon they can operate with 1,500 crowds and the 'whiff of an oily rag'. Sounds like their financial management is on par with their mother country in Europe.

+x+x+xThe only hope now is the NST becomes as, if not more, popular as the A League and they're dragged kicking and screaming. Piece of piss. It's what all the REAL football fans in the country want after all. Davide I know your annoyed about some things and granted - our game is always on the back foot so to speak hence so much angst from many, as mentioned wogs/franchise/NZ yaddaydda..... As its mentioned we're the sleeping giant and because of the past and present - one divide after another any new growth is fickle and slim. Putting aside the obvious barriers, APL separate, FA, Feds State therefore each sector is compramised. How long are NEW not REAL fans gonna stick around new Franchise's ? forget the honeymoon period looking ahead 3/5/6yrs on. This ongoing divide needs to get to an end - put it this way, the ways things are going it might just implode all on its own due to all mentioned above because people can't come to grip with anything in the game together more and more. Like you mentioned in the other thread one day I'm just not going log on anymore (as many have done in the past) this is whats happenning to the real devoted supporter even right ? Hang in there mate I like having you on board as would others. Yep. I'm getting too old for this shit. We just need to have the balls to STFU and do it. The strength of our game is our diversity. When we play to our strength, we let everyone participate. When we are ruled by our weakness, we let people tell us to be divided and we do that leg work for them with our own bickering. Handing the reigns to the younger folks is part of what has to get us there. Older people with time in the game have the knowledge and experience but also the baggage of tired old thinking and that lack of confidence that pulls us back. The choice before is either to try and either succeed, not succeed, or somewhere in between that gets us ahead. Or, we can guarantee failure and just not try.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/mar/22/can-a-national-second-tier-be-the-answer-to-australian-footballs-problems?CMP=share_btn_twSo, can it fix Australian football? Is it the silver bullet that will deliver the game to a hitherto unknown land of milk and honey? Of course, the simple answer is no. But it doesn’t need to. To hold it to that standard is to allow administrators, coaches and officials to abdicate their responsibilities elsewhere.

Haven't used twitter for years but I'm not sure Galatas understands the format. Anyway, an oddly combative response to what was a fairly mild/positive/grounded article?

I think both had valid comments and points - lets look at it positively, put it this way all for the better below the APL having NST going ahead and in the future better for the teirs below in time and the game as a whole..... Grass roots to NST is the biggest fish where the fish are.

It was essentially just a list of grievances?

I didn't think when you posted the original article you thought it was overly negative?
Galatas comes out firing with Point 1 and then launches into why everything is someone else's fault aha
None of his other points are wrong I'm sure but with all the peppered in petty digs it did read as a bit of a ranty forum post (which I guess it was to be fair)

Guess the phrase "cooler heads prevail" isn't in the australian football dictionary, let alone the greek one.
Have a good weekend boys

Ok, now it's weekend time hahahah maybe why he objected to Lynchy's line about: So, can it fix Australian football? The rusted ons like us but Ive got no issues with fair weather fans or theatre goers..... There aplenty of those in football, just cant understand why the APL and FFA before them would target AFL/NRL fans and not people already in love with the sport of football to begin with?

The FFA and the APL and all the state federations should be focusing on the converted and not the AFL/NRL crowd. By having the A-League in summer is like saying our football can't compete with them. By why are we supposed to be competing with them? Our game is a winter sport, and should be played in winter. We can have a longer season than them. We may be flooding the "market" amongst our fan base, but as sure as hell, everyone involved with the code will have a choice. And that is exactly what happens everywhere else in the world - at every level of the game.
