They might run of petrol but I think we could see a back 3 on occasion then a single 6 and Metcalfe a bit further ahead and Atkinson and Bos coming in a bit narrower to help at times. 

I still don't entirely get why we've picked so many defenders. Adding Nisbet, Hollman, Nieuwenhof or Teague would be reassuring.

He's got to be careful with these statements. I know he's got a top rapport with he current leadership group but we thought that with Ange and I think he lost the dressing room when he went to play a back 3 and picked players who weren't playing at their club.

I just hope the new additions aren't Elder or Dougall cases who don't fit so well to the group. It's interesting with those two. They join and bring so much club and professional experience that they're not exactly fresh in a hierarchical sense. Perhaps the original batch also felt a bit threatened.

I guess it could be worse with zero minutes and an injury. He's played somewhat and scored. A downgrade but time is on his side.

Creativity will have to come from Metcalfe and McGree and then up top with Silvera and Yengi. Somewhat limited compared to Rogic, Luongo and Mooy.

We look a bit light on at 10. Will McGree even be fit and ready? Other than him I guess it would be Mercalfe. Luongo is not a 10 so his withdrawal doesn't hurt regarding this. I agree Robertson seems very promising, One for later.

His club level is miles above India. This is the silly notion England have 'We can't pick him for England' Yeah yet he plays well in the EPL every week which is higher than the level that Slovakia or Finland will offer.

If you were going to make a decision like that throw a bone to Hrustic. At least he's in an area of need and could be a good impact sub from midfield. 

Pleased for Bruno in making the squad, the most in form forward we got at the moment even with he's age he's more than deserved he's chance.

Interesting no Robertson or Circati, clearly Arnie is putting he's eggs on his basket for the Olympic qualifying tournament later in the year, Tilio and Yazbek in is interesting assuming there clubs allowed them to go.

Never heard of Jones either, in terms of keepers Lawrence Thomas and Joe Gauci selected but I dont think there clubs will happy if they ridding the pine.

It's really lacking. We had potential options with Luongo (ret.), Robertson (olympics), Hrustic (form), Volpato (ego?) but the stars haven't aligned. McGree will be so important. 

G. Kuol playing for the worst team in the Eredivisie might have something to do with it, he's young im sure he will have more chances to make Socceroos squad in the future.

I dont see McGree as the main creative option, it seems the responsibility might fall to someone like Metcalfe as we saw in the last games he was pulling the strings in the final third.

If Irvine is having a bad game I’m not sure who will pick up the slack. 

Who are the AL based no. 10 options? Brimmer, Da Silva ... ? 

It is ludicrous that tilllio is there. 

Jones had occasional whispers but that was 6-7 years ago. I swear he got called up once or was in a training squad. When he went as an ad hoc signing to Carlisle 4 seasons ago his career looked down. It's now been a very solid return for Bolton over multiple seasons. 

Iredale is something of a centre forward with a nose for goal. He's been drifting wider of late and can beat a man. I'd say one weakness is probably his heading on goal. He's very much a clinical finisher. He can move the ball well resulting in secondary assists.

Got to agree with the Tilio comment. I didn't think Davidson dominated in the A League at LB. He was very good in a 3-4-3 at LM at Perth.  However, hasn't Davidson been playing at CB overseas - mainly right CB in a 5-3-2 recently.   

Deng and Jones are in for versatility so we've got 4 eligible right backs and two who are more of a centre back. We should have added Davidson for Jones then we have a better balance across the back and even more versitility. 

I'm still a bit shocked how thin we've selected in midfield after having years of plenty. CM requires much more stamina than CM so I don't get why we've gone so big at CB but not CM. I think we might see a back 3 and then a single 6 and have two 10s track back and wingbacks come in to help also.

Given the priority that Arnie seems to be placing on the Olympics and qualifying for that, I am wondering if Tilio's selection is to get movement either in him playing at Celtic or a move. He is the only Olympic qualified player selected that I am aware of. How high a regard does Arnie have for his ability to lead us in the Olympics is an interesting question.

Having said that, he is someone who can unblock a packed defense, so it's not all bad that he is in the squad.

Overall quite excited about the Cup. Also, even more excited about the future of our NT with the youngsters that have been left out of the squad that surely will be coming into selection for the qualifiers and the 2026 WC.

At mv he was pretty much the best player and I reckon top 3 in league for that season.

I actually really upset by the Kuol one, I think he could of really used a few weeks training and playing with the socceroos and having another shot at Voldenham when he gets back. Really disappointing. Would of been to be in a good environment and to get an arm around him.

Yep. When did Tilio last score a senior club goal??!! G Kuol scored a worldie for his club few months ago and playing a lot more senior minutes than Tilio (just 28 minutes in 6 months FFS)
