+x+xDidn’t realise wanderers have both Rhys Williams and Terry Antonis. Can’t recall every seeing them play? They both played last season. Williams has effectively retired due to injury while Antonis is unwanted by Rudan. I find it hard to believe that Antonis can't even get a bench spot. Hopefully another club picks him up. At 29, I'm sure he's still got plenty to offer.

Who is Adelaide going to keep?
Adelaide United- Juande Prados - Good player but do we need him and will he be any good after injury?
- Javi López - Maybe best if he retires otherwise perhaps more of a back up/mentoring role to Van der Saag assuming he comes back from injury okay.
- George Blackwood - Probably let go, not good enough to start and probably better young options to play off the bench.
- Louis D'Arrigo - Keep
- Joe Gauci - Keep
- Joshua Cavallo - Hopefully not kept as back up left back. If he stays it should be as a midfielder but maybe not needed there
- Luke Duzel - Let go
- Ethan Cox - Don't know
- Jonny Yull - Keep
- Ethan Alagich - Keep
- Nestory Irankunda - Contracted anyway
- Asad Kasumovic - Let go

+xHas Newcastle really got a player called "Central Midfield" mate? hahahahahah Anyway, interesting "shopping list" for NST clubs for next season. I wonder hoe many of these players may be enticed to sign on to a new club should the participants be known by then? They would have to sign them on for 1-2 years first in order to loan them out... I doubt that Aleague clubs would bother with the expense or even want to make room in their socialist salary cap for an unwanted or underutilised player..... Scrap the cap and introduce transfer system and then ...... maybe.

Newcastle have said Kuol will be going on a season long loan they wish to have arranged early in the window so he can get settled. I think League 1 or 2 would be good. Plenty of minutes and football is getting better all the time.

https://sport.optus.com.au/news/socceroos/os57307/socceroos-mitch-duke-world-cup-goal-japan-england-australia-jleagueSomeone posted a few months back the pay was better in Japan than England. It was surprising to many. His and his decision only but it's an interesting one where you wouldn't be short of a dollar playing in England (his family live there too) and with good investment that money would go to work for you anyway.

+x+xMelbourne Victory are headed for a big cleanout. Brox will be back...but otherwise, I'd really only like to see Nish, Eli Adams and Miranda retained.
Never thought I'd say this, but Fornaroli might be worth another year if the price is right. 11th highest goal scorer for the league this season and he came in later. If he was there at the start of the season maybe he'd be in that top 10 this year. I wouldn't have him starting, but he could be useful off the bench. Completely agree. He and Romero are so similar though. Romero obviously has more upside. Club is apparently trying to bin Ikon and Brillante and use one of the “marquee” spots on a striker too.

Popavic has truly been woeful on transfers.
He has panicked halfway through season and brought in work horse because he recruited so terribly
Did he give Ikon that contract? Laughable
Anyway this season alone
Timeotheu Juric Cadete Kamau Spiranovic

Romero could be ok, but he appears overweight and unfit. He hasn't shown enough to think he's at D'Aggers level

He has panicked halfway through season and brought in work horse because he recruited so terribly Did he give Ikon that contract? Laughable Anyway this season alone Timeotheu Juric Cadete Kamau Spiranovic He completely undervalued the contributions of Rojas, Davidson and even Hamill to a certain extent. He though he could just drop in any player into those positions and continue on doing the same thing. Nani in for Rojas is a reasonable decision, but it's just too high risk for it to pay off. Spira is a bit of an frustrating one. I get that retirement is a difficult decision for a player, but it seemed like he had already made the decision prior to starting the season. Fornaroli has been an ok addition, but a very different player to Daggers so not ideal for the system that was already established. Ikonomidis started the season well and then was either average or poor for the rest of the season. Brimmer's injury probably hurt us the most this season. Definitely lacking in the midfield without him.

Should a league clubs chase players playing at lower or equivalent leagues to the a league? So like gersbach, smith in the MLS pana in the league under the MLS.
Then even mauk, duke, Deng, delbridge and grant. Wouldn't it be better then playing in the a league then overseas? Interested in your thoughts

Western United have released Jamie Young, Léo Lacroix, Tongo Doumbia, James Troisi, Adisu Bayew, Ben Collins, Ajak Deu, Ryan Scott and Neil Kilkenny
Of those players, only Young and Scott have been linked with moves to another A-League club.

At 37 you'd reckon Kilkenny will struggle to get another A-League contract. Troisi would be in a similar boat, but I reckon he'll get at least another season somewhere else. He seems to be really good at being signed for some reason. Will be taking a pay cut though.
