Saudi clubs in the eventual Superleague? Or will they try and buy their way into the Champions League, the big clubs in Europe all just love money, as do UEFA, I don't think its impossible to see happening one day.

I reackon they may try Super league again and maybe include some MLS clubs .... just a hunch, no conceivable information....

Super league is Inevitable the question is will it be a 'world wide super league' or a European only

i would love to see a world wide super league with 2 divisions

we probably would only have the cash to field a single side but it would be better to follow then the AL

Saudi Arabia are also building a very interesting project called 'The Line' a linear smart city which will be powered by renewable energy, whether it works or not is another thing...

They are clearly focusing on the future and they clearly see football is a powerful tool as well.

They clearly also murder journalists in embassies and celebrate themselves allowing women to get a drivers licenses (so brother doesn't have to drive them).

It's all about big dick prestige, wealth signalling and wallpapering cracks. Not just the Saudis - all the nations of the middle east do this.

Gary Neville has come out saying the EPL should halt all Saudi transfers. Ridiculous call. Firstly, most are of an older age and it's a good way to clear them out. A bit like the IPL for the A League. Also this could see increased spaces for local players.

he makes some 'silly calls' that bloke so does Carragher

i  actually hope Optus sports picks up the Saudi super league on the cheap - it has more stars in it then the J league or K league - nothing against the J or K league but it doesnt 'interest' me - i did watch a bit of j league when Ange was there but now i couldnt careless

Australia would have nowhere near the money to field a Super League team. You would probably have to pay your best players $500 million a year or so by then. It might start off European but American teams would certainly be added, prob Saudi teams well.

As the world eagerly seeks renewables, Saudi  might not have the demand for oil in the imminent future   - hence oil  revenue could decrease.

ofcourse their oil revenue will decrease but not for a while yet AND besides they have buckets loads of $$$'s in the vault that as the saying goes money makes money and that they will.....
I just landed in Kuwait having been in Riyadh the previous 5days.
Its restrictions changed 5yrs ago D2, one, women getting license's And importantly for them due to the Vision 2030 Visa's are farfar easier applying for, whereas before it was mostly business visa's, Tourist Visa's are done online now and issued within a week.
The place is "pumping" with tourists and many varying nationalities for work - one ME/Saudi real drawcard for many is "religion" - now going to the many special old sites is a go to for those inclined.
The King is throwing $$$'s building Malls all over the place the last 5yrs, shops a plenty, building reserve's/parks encouraging people to be outdoors, the Malls are massive and actully great to walk around.
Just finished a 450k monorail/railway that links closer cities around Riyadh that is not ground level but the system is like 50'+ above you as you drive around.
Has been building new housing estates and very cheap buy in prices especially for the immigrants/workers as they call them.
I got to say I was very impressed, very safe place might I add haha obviously you wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of the law.
Football is/will be massive (to the global eyes) and with the african nations not far I won' be surprised many up and comers sure will look in hope to get a calling not just the aging euro top players and their investment in youth.
I actually think it will be good for the Asian nations ME/Saudi looking to be a power in the game, especially the region we compete with.
I also don't think they will fail like the Chinese
I recommend visiting one day if inclined its an eye opener but not during June, 42deg is not like our 42 thats for sure.

Garry Neville is a hypocrite, now it sees how it feels like when the shoe is on other foot.

Even if I dont agree with it, the Saudi's can spend how they feel like and if they want to spend money to help their own league then all power to them really.

Just typical Western ignorance when they don't get their way.

+40 degrees for 5 months straight. You can have that.

If you like shopping malls you'll have fun. Otherwise bad luck.

You do realise that those Saudi clubs are basically shell companies that can be used as a vehicle for Chelsea & NUFC to dodge FFP.

Imagine if a Saudi club buys an EPL player on a huge transfer, pays for his wages and then loans them back to Chelsea/Newcastle as a way around FFP.

FFP is a joke and everyone knows that. If Chelsea have found a way to virtually have unlimited spending good on them. Once City beat the FFP charges or just get a slap on the wrist I doubt the rules will be around much longer. There will just always be loopholes that teams will be able to get around.

Nah there’s more than malls, perception ME is all dunes there is mountain ranges trees waterfalls just most tourists or those who went to Qatar WC only see the city.
I don’t approve of their beliefs/actions but there is bucket loads of immigrants who rely on making a buck all over the ME and good people - doubt they’ll go broke.

Exactly this. Their ego is also why they throw themselves on the ground feigning injury if they’re losing or on call for an investigation into the grass being too long. yes mate nothing new about that re your links its woeful to us but they also know before heading there for work, their choice as crazy as it is.

So getting back to football CR7, Benzema current BallonDor, Kante 32yrs and now Neves at just 26 pocking around £300,000-a-week, comfortably more than three times what he was earning in the EPL.
LIV Golf at its finest.
Players on the radar ATM
Koulibaly 32yrs
Ziyech 30yrs
Mendy 31yrs
Silva 28yrs - absolute waste if he ends there in his prime.
Saul 28yrs, as above
Brosonvic 30yrs as above
Zaha 30yrs as above though he needs to leave Palace for another epl/euro club - well all above should imo.
Neymar 31yrs, well I wouldn't miss not seeing him at all so go the $$$ roll on the ground Neymar.

pretty much about it all and todays world no matter where the $$$ come from, a quick buck in Only Fans same applies to the Saudi league for players.

MSC who will watch ?
CR7 signing was the start of the exposure naturally
https://firstsportz.com/saudi-arabian-leagues-viewership-increases-7-times-after-cristiano-ronaldos-move-to-al-nassr-reports/
  • The Saudi Pro League also signed a rights deal in Italy, where Ronaldo played from 2018-21, with Sportitalia. The network also features behind-the-scenes content on the player.
  • The league also has broadcast deals in France (RMC Sport), Greece (Cosmote), and Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (Sportdigital Fussball).

https://frontofficesports.com/ronaldo-boosts-saudi-pro-league-exposure-across-europe/

Now the latest known player additions will pick up more viewers.

pretty much about it all and todays world no matter where the $$$ come from, a quick buck in Only Fans same applies to the Saudi league for players.

MSC who will watch ?
CR7 signing was the start of the exposure naturally

  • The Saudi Pro League also signed a rights deal in Italy, where Ronaldo played from 2018-21, with Sportitalia. The network also features behind-the-scenes content on the player.
  • The league also has broadcast deals in France (RMC Sport), Greece (Cosmote), and Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (Sportdigital Fussball).

Now the latest known player additions will pick up more viewers.

Yeah mate but Why didnt the world start watching Serie A in massive numbers when he went to Turin? OR League 1 when Messi and Neymar went to Paris????

Sure some of the fanboys will watch highlights here and there but I really dont think this will really bring any serious interest from football fans worldwide... maybe the Asian market?

BTW did you hear about Bobby Firmino singing on? .... now its gone too far mate... too far.

SerieA reacted big time with his move + Juve shares went off the richter scale the moment he signed doubled infact.
There's no doubt SM drives players/clubs alot more than we give it the time MSC and thats the drawcard for many compared to me or you.
His debut Juventus-Chievo match drew 2.3 million viewers in Italy, a huge share of 11.9 percent. The total was fourth highest in broadcaster Sky Italia’s history.
ESPN is likely to experience a large boost in subscriptions for ESPN+ just to watch Cristiano Ronaldo.
Who know what the overall increase was during his stay but I'm sure it was more than pre CR7.

L1 is a different storey, ask yourself who do you know watchs any/many games ? do you know many French people around your network ? the french league is a 1 horse race the last 10yrs with the exception of 3 other winners.
So despite Messi there it doesn't appeal to many/any here but who are we to know re viewership ?
Bet you quite alot of Argies and Barca devotees clicked on and watched games that never did before.

As for Saudi, Africans and close other countries would have alot more interest that you or I think, asian countries yes, well there are tragics everywhere today checking online.
There is heaps of Indians/Pakis/Phillipinos but its dominated by Africa and South Asians.
Besides, does the PIF need the ROI or click bait ? last I saw they were @ $650B aiming to be over $1T in the next few years.
They forced the PGA into partnership within 2yrs or so whilst LIV wasn't writing any massive viewership records one wonders where this will take them with football.
Infarnato supported Messi wearing a robe, who would have picked that pre WC.

PS, Bobby, yes I've seen the press that is not surprising, what top player isn't on their list, very sorry IF he finishs his awesum career that way thats for sure but @ just 31yrs he should still be at a top euro Club.
IF its for the retirement fund outlook go to Franchise MLS and rip it.

Serie A viewership may have had a  bump in viewers because of one player mate but thats all it was, a temporary boost.... Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma, Lazio, have mad passionate fans all around the world, big name players come and go all the time.... Same with the big 3-4 clubs in France, OK PSG is a "galacticos club" and always has been but the French fans around the world (and others) who follow didnt increase or decreae becuase of a couplf of players.... at least noit that much.... What about Barca and Real???? The Ronnie and MEssi fan boys that fighht endless battles over who is the GOAT online enver really watched the league in teh first place and their crowds and popularity are teh same now as they where 5-6 years ago..... its CLUB before player for people who watch the game mate... not the other way around.

Maybe your right bud..... Maybe people across the planet will "consume" this league with interest. I guess the Saudis are banking on it, they are going the whole hog (minus bacon and other pork products of course) to showcase their tolerant culture and lifestyle... I hear they are now trying to get a tennis grand slam on the ATP tour promising huge prize money..... Not sure if anyone has told them that would mean they would have to allow women to compete as well..  Oh well, us dinosaurs can just slink away to die in the background, let the youth enjoy their entertainment. I wont be watching Saudi, MLS, Chinese or any other league just because of one or two (or even fifty) players....

"O brave new world that has such people in it"
