The 2025 Chinese Grand Prix saw Oscar Piastri bounce back from a disappointing home race to claim victory at the Shanghai International Circuit. The Aussie leading home teammate Lando Norris for McLaren’s 50th 1-2 finish. George Russell secured third for Mercedes with a solid drive. Last years winner Max Verstappen could only manage a fourth-place finish, with the RB21 proving to be more of a handful than its predecessor. The race was marked by multiple post-race disqualifications. Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, who had initially finished fifth and sixth respectively, as well as Alpine's Pierre Gasly were all disqualified for technical infringements. A disappointing end to Ferrari’s weekend after Lewis Hamilton earlier claimed victory in Saturday’s 19 lap Sprint race.

Lando Norris took first blood in the 2025 World Drivers’ Championship with a well-judged drive in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. The Albert Park circuit turned on trademark Melbourne four-seasons-in-one-day weather conditions, with searing heat on Saturday giving way to cold, blustery winds and torrential rain on Sunday. The slippery conditions caught out several drivers, including Oscar Piastri late in the race, just when the Australian was looking poised to challenge his McLaren team-mate for victory in his home grand prix.
