+x+x+xHonestly i dont mind. We dont have the budget of the nrl or afl. Grow the game till kur salary floor is 5milliom before worrying about luxuries. Get rid of var too, thats an extra 100k per club I agree, whatever, seriously why or who really cares whilst our so called top league is as such. The game has no pedestool to stand on - it would be a event just for themselves that is a waste of time/$ (they don't have) and their decision confirms it. though I just heard they didn't tell warrens family. Like why....basic courtesy Do you honestly think anyone at APL knows who Johnny Warren was?

+x+xJust picturing all of the players realising they no longer need to buy their SO a new outfit for the evening. "The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) have chosen to tone down this season's Dolan-Warren celebrations, which are usually held in the lead-up to A-League Men grand final week at a glitzy ceremony" "We've had some fantastic events over the years - of all different variety - but this year we wanted to bring the awards closer to fans and give them a platform to be celebrated during the biggest games of the year." "Other awards will be announced digitally" hahahahahaha the marketing spin is strong with these guys... hahahahahah ie by sticking up the middle one.

Like why....basic courtesy History means nothing to the APL. As I’ve said before this is the americanisation of football in this country. Maybe the NST or whatever can help focus on that history but things are looking grim. The younger generation who only know the a league probably won’t support it so it’s America here we come.

+x+xMaybe if Danny Townsend didn’t blow the budget on last seasons ‘festival of football’ then piss off to Middle east (what a prick) - the Apl could afford a counter meal for the best players at the pub?! The APL CAN afford the event they CHOOSE not to hold it mate... thats the problem..... Spending money on bullshit money making schemes, dont give a flying fark about football or footballers.... never have, never will. THATS the MLS lite APL Franchise way . It’s all part of the americanisation of ‘ soccer ‘.

haha too funny MSC...... Christ with my boys I've enjoyed countless Club only end of season awards/dinner events let alone my own playing days. Who doesn't luv getting out amongst your fellow team mates supporters and Club officials, we've all contributed to cover those costs year on year out and as mentioned then the State Feds hold theirs for the NPL top flight. It sure is a farce of a decision.

CFG lost $200m last year, wouldn't hurt that much to cover the Awards night ?

+xThe annual Dolan-Warren awards ceremony has been axed, with the A-Leagues set to announce the players of the season at halftime on grand final days. The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) have chosen to tone down this season's Dolan-Warren celebrations, which are usually held in the lead-up to A-League Men grand final week at a glitzy ceremony. It follows significant cuts at head office this year and a restructure overseen by the competitions' new commissioner, Nick Garcia. https://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/soccer/a-leagues-to-announce-dolan-warren-winners-on-gf-days-c-14360999 Very skint. Not just because of what you have shared, but also that they couldn't provide extra funding to Canberra United to see them through until the failed expansion procedure is finalised here.
