Slovakia lead after a furious Belgium start. Hilariously stupid short throw and pass across goal sees Slovakia get it and put away after a save. Faes not at fault but kept the offside line deep. Doku was so wrong to come deep and ask for the throw and blindly pass it like that. Just throw it up the line.

Wow what a goal line clearance by Slovakia and cops a teammate knee to the jaw for it. Belgium going hard now. If Slovakia hold on they'll love this H2H rule. 

My random observation is Slovakia subbed on another striker named Strelec.

Stiil for me the banging game of the 3 was Romania Ukraine, just had it all and the vibe was sensational even on my lonesom/ couch miles away.

The Romanian centre halfs were specatcular, midfield solid, their wingers fearless in beating a man, not a sideways pass all game, very very pretty football to watch and my new tournament favourite team (at least so far). I mean, Hadji's son being coached by Iordanescu's son... AND they have a fat #9 called Puskas ..... I mean, how can I NOT love them :)

I think the problem did exist. It was the broadcasters and pundits. If VAR didn't exist, watch them go on about this all the time. You've got teams having bloody tablets on the sideline with the game stream now. Remember Hiddink against Japan trying to see the broadcast box? 

You'd wish common sense would occur that it is ball to hand. The ref has seemingly made an error there. It's not even in the law but the refs always say handball if the movement gives even the slightest advantage. I think the ball has been nudged which gave him the slightest of attacking advantages. 

I personally wouldn't miss the lack of numerous camera angles, slowing it down and picking minute details. Take the scenes at face value. Don't reflect and play on.
