Not really as they clearly don’t care about this place. The spam, ads that take you off site, and lag spoil this place. Once my site is finished it will smoke this one.

Is it distasteful  to actively recruit when the site owners have given up on  this forum?  I've been in correspondence with the current owner. He doesn't want to take phone calls. He seems like a nice enough guy, but nothing has been done by Inside Sport management to  maintain this forum since KA sold it a few years ago.

KA was in constant contact with the mod panel. From what I've  learned there has been no liaison from the owners with the Mod panel since KA left. I have been in contact with some of the older Mods since they've become inactive.

Bowden has had to do heaps of boring, monotonous work ridding the site of endless spam. The site owners should have appointed more Mods to help Bowden.

The functions on FTBL Forum are often quite slow - or - don't work at times. The owner has said money needs to be spent to upgrade the forum, but by his actions, or lack of them since the correspondence,  he doesn't want to spend it.

Pasquali's new forum works better.

To exemplify my point when I went to make this corollary on the aforementioned post, the edit function didn't work!

The point I'll make as the corollary, is when the  The World Game was in its death throes there were three forums that TWGF left for - all actively solicited new members. One was administered by a guy called Omi. Can't remember the name if it?

Another was Anarchy Forum.

The other big migration was to 442 Forum.

All actively solicited new members on the old TWGF. Maybe the notable exception was Omi's forum?

442 had the most football content.

There was an exodus from TWGF to all three.

There isn't any current forum admin watching - that is the problem.

It/they don't care about FTBL Forum.

To illustrate my point further, every time I see a typo in a post I've written, when I try to edit it, the edit function doesn't work!

D2, look we all know the background re here it really doesn't need to be spelt out for us.
Your troubles on the site could be due to your own server/vpn who knows, whereas I can edit my posts when in need without the prob you are experiencing, I'm expect I'm not alone.
The only main issue I have is the thai bots loading up the forum.
I agree I feel for Bowden the lone soldier and its very admirable of him, thankfully he is as committed as most of us being active in here and keeping together, strangley we are kind of a team/family of passionate misfits :).
I just feel till push comes to shove then I'll 110% move completely but I don't need to see someone encouraging the exodus as yet.

 I definitely listed you in the first manifestation of 40 odd potential recruits for Green and Gold, but it was discontinued after a day. I love your posts, as do all other Green and Gold  members! Green and Gold FC can never function adequately without your esteemed presence, LFC.

My humble apologies that you have seen a list of  G and G target recruits and you weren't on the list, mate! I've only left off a few trolls, mainly who have existed on a site that cannot be mentioned!

This forum has not been actively maintained for a couple of years.

There are basically no mods.

The site functionality is poor compared to basicaclly any board you encounter including php boards AND due to lack of maintenance, buttons don't work.

And as a sign of how much the admins care about this place:

We have run a thread of active re ruitment for people to leave this place and they haven't even noticed.

I'd see your point IF this site wasn't basically dead already.

I also want to point out.. this place is Inside Sport. Did I ever get a say in that? I was on 442 then suddenly I was a part of some NRL/AFL forum. I never had a say in that. If we can get passed around like that, then we're entitled to pass ourselves around as well.

Posting youtube etc on the new forum always shows the entire video box. Any ideas on how the link can simply be posted as a text without the player taking up a lot of space?

I don't care about the owners of the site and agree it has been neglected. I'm more thinking about Bowden and the community of active posters that may wish to stay here. I think something needed to be done and its good to have an alternative. I also appreciate Pasquali's initiative setting it up. It's why I contributed ideas and signed up. I just think soliciting posters that way lacked decorum. 

Just letting everyone know I’m doing edits tonight so expect bad performance 

New forum feels like something you wake up to if this place finally had a modern overhaul (not that insidesport would ever do that)

Just a matter of everyone migrating over over time and inevitably this place will be offline. within 6 months you reckon?

And we are only halfway there. Still need to implement logo, complete menu bar, fix bugs, dark mode etc.

Honestly, this place feels like the sick potplant in your flat that you keep watering because you think more water makes it healthy even though it's dying in front of your eyes and your mrs is on your ARSE to throw it away

Is there anyway to see in specific threads who is online? I always enjoyed seeing the 'crowd' 

For me personally I’ll continue using this website but will definitely join the new forum if inside sport is shut down for whatever reason. 

Sadly, judging by the lack of posts, it looks like it died earlier today. It's a real shame 

Getting everyone to move over is the way to go imho. It’s clear this forum won’t stay live much longer. I get error codes anytime I try logging in, it’s why my posting has dried up over the last 12 months.

Yeah I want to see the community maintained as well. It's a great group of contributors.
