Don't know what McGarry is pointing at, but that was an awful challenge and should have got him at least a yellow.

Burns tackles someone, they're slow to get up, then argues with their protesting teammates.
Nothing new, then... :D

Clisby rightfully earning a yellow for a cynical foul, lucky to not be the last man and get a red for his efforts.
Not a bad effort, he's not been on 5 minutes...

Johor's #11 is built like a bit of a unit, or maybe it's just the tiny teammates around him

Long passes from the back not at all accurate tonight. Let's not make a habit of that...

Maclaren off, Makeche on. And I'm fairly sure the commentator just threw a Drogba comparison in there :D

Oh god. Another season of Jacob Burns taking shots from too far out? Please no.

Pretty sure that was O'Neill with the last ditch block to save a goal. Nice work.

Johor on the break, but their winger practically holds a neon sign up saying he doesn't want to shoot and the cut back is intercepted

He's hit about 200 wasted attacking chances in that same time, too.

Shit cross, retrieved just on the line beyond the far post by da silva who loops it back over to Makeche who calmly nods it in.
FT Johor 0 - 2 Glory

The good: McGarry comfy as aggro CM, Nagai, getting squad fitness up.
The bad: Crossing, long balls from the back, and general lack of short sharp passes. Right wing was ineffective all night as an avenue to goal, really.
Still, it's pre-season and there is a very long way to go.

Scoreline a bit flattering for Glory, who didn't really create many clear opportunities. Johor lacked any conviction in the front third though and aside from Vuka's save from the corner near the end weren't really looking like a threat.

Agree on all points (though Nagai had his part in poor front third decision making) Right side looked miles better when da silva came on and offered a link up option for Risdon to play off. O'Neil had a solid stint at CB, might even be above Clisby at this rate with Clisby still looking a bit slow to read play and transition his positioning from attack to defense.

Still, it's pre-season and there is a very long way to go. I only caught the last 10-15 mins of the game. -But anyway, with the right side - It SEEMED Risdon was the RW?! Or was this only late in the game, due to subs and subsequent line up shifting? -Did Sidnei play? He's over there, right? -Nice leap from De Silva to create that goal. Mind you player he out-leapt was only his height range too, but still, nice facet of his game to see. Real goer. -Noticed Cameron Edwards trying some balls in that late game period, which he didn't pull off. One cross field ball overhit and behind the RW and another attempted through ball/mini lob (from just beyond top of box) which was cleared. Edited by GloryPerth: 15/8/2013 01:47:26 AM

Now that the member packs are out and renewals near done (or due to be finished soon?) - Who of you have already signed up or are considering signing up? I just ask as I'm strongly considering buying up a lower level member pack, despite there being no associate level pack this year (Or at the moment?). Though still might wait to see if there a limited game pack that may be announced a lil down the track. But then again, there seem to be more games that I may be able to catch, than I expected, or atleast when checking my calendar now. Anyway, for those of you who DO have or are considering, do you mind if I ask where are you (Or are you considering)? Shed? Home End? Elsewhere? It may be kind of exciting sitting in that new Eastern Stand. Driven past it a couple times - it looks relatively MASSIVE compared to the temporary structure that has stood there for ages before! So may get a 'Silver Membership' just for that (kind of)! http://static.ffa.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/document/00001413-source.pdfEdited by GloryPerth: 15/8/2013 02:34:08 AM

Still, it's pre-season and there is a very long way to go. How about that punt from Vukovic to hit Nagai in stride. Although every other ball out from the defenders not so great Edited by c-hawk: 15/8/2013 09:49:54 AM
