Fixtures will always be my pet hate till the FFA get me to do them. And not just because my received fixture list does not stick on the fridge so I haven't checked this.

From the Worst, yesterday.................. Quote:When former Socceroo Richard Garcia lines up for Perth Glory this Sunday, it will be an event 18 years in the making.
Garcia was just 15 years old when he left his hometown of Perth to join English club West Ham United.
The talented winger spent the next 15 years in England playing for the Hammers, Colchester United and Hull City before returning to Australia to feature for Melbourne Heart and Sydney FC.
Perth Glory wasn't in existence when Garcia first left Perth, but he has kept a close eye on the club over the past 18 years - from their glory days in the NSL to the tougher times in the A-League.
Garcia always hoped that one day he would be able to pull on a Glory shirt, and that time has now come after he inked a two-year deal at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old is set to feature in Sunday's season opener against Wellington Phoenix in New Zealand, and he hopes he can help Glory taste success in the near future after they only narrowly avoided the wooden spoon last season.
"I left Perth as a kid before Glory came about. But once Glory were formed, I always thought I want to play for my home-town team," he said.
"And they were killing it back then in the NSL. I used to come back from England and think 'wow, this is great'.
"My brother (Michael Garcia) played there as well. So for me it's almost like a dream come true coming home to play.
"I'm happy to be back in Perth. My wife's from Perth as well, so the extended family is happy too."
Garcia joins Irish striker Andy Keogh, Youssouf Hersi, Mitch Nichols, Ruben Zadkovich, Diogo Ferreira and Dino Djulbic as new arrivals at the club.
Although Perth will boast a strong squad on paper, Garcia warned that it may take the new-look side some time to gel.
"It's going to take us a while to really hit our stride," Garcia said.
"Hopefully we can start this weekend at Wellington and get a good result, and progress slowly from there.
"We want to be playing in the finals." Oh, fuck, here they go again. ](*,) Good to see the PR department feeding them their lines. There's one down, how many left in the Glory excuse play-book? Edited by hotrod: 9/10/2014 06:28:15 PM

I don't know, maybe call them up and ask. Just saying what I recall being said at the start of past season. Gelling Taking time to adapt Be patient etc etc If you don't recall/remember any of that then fine. I do, hence my apprehensive BS meter just went into the red zone.

I don't know what the Glory PR department said exactly. Do you??? Go fucking ask them if it means so much to you. It doesn't to me. I do recall what was being said in the papers and on these forums. That's what I recall after reading them. I don't know if they're the same things as what the PR department said, even if they said anything, I don't know. The same comments are being said now in the press by players as 12 months ago. Maybe not word for fucking word, but essentially the same thing. Again, go have fun by looking it up 12 months ago. If you can ignore what was said 12 months ago and go tra-la-la and lap up every word they spoon feed you, then so be it. When you become an old cynical long time supporter, shit like this I read in the paper just flicks my switches. It's the same thing over and over, just like me. Fucking madness.

Am I reading this wrong? FFA/A-League and Glory and Ticketmaster websites have us playing Friday 21st November at Perth Oval. Should this be Saturday night, as I think we've got our 2 Friday night games in Perth at other times? (Important for a Fyfe obsessed daughter wanted to see Australia v Ireland on the 22nd) Of 14 home games, Perth will play two Friday games, eight Saturday games, three Sunday games and one Monday game, on January 5. Perth Glory CEO, Jason Brewer said the club was extremely pleased with the fixtures. “It’s certainly good to see so many of our home games being played on Saturday nights and at times that best suit our fans both young and old,” he said. ROUND 7, Saturday, November 22, 2014, Perth Glory V Wellington Phoenix, nib Stadium, Perth ROUND 11, Friday, December 12, 2014, Perth Glory V Newcastle Jets, nib Stadium, Perth ROUND 26, Friday, April 10, 2015, Perth Glory V Sydney FC, nib Stadium, Perth So these are our 2 Friday night matches? I am so fed up with bullshit fixtures that seem to have changes after their official release and one has to find out by pure chance that the days have been changed. And Hotrod is right about needing time to gel. Year after year after year it is the same old thing. These blokes are professionals, been full time running around for 3 or 4 months now, and this club can not afford its usual slow start to a season and play catch up forever. Like I said elsewhere, it took us 6 years of the A-League before we could score a goal in Round 1.

Wow, just saw our new away strip on Glory twitter. Has it been 'launched' already?
What a piece of crap.
Shame, cos the last away kit wasn't too bad. Coulda easily just have re-worked that.

I actually really like the new away kit, already nabbed one, and one of their new Est 96 range shirts.
Anyone else go to the season launch?

All their signings, new strips, press releases and always look for the negative so they can have a moan or is that just a purely Glory thing?

As far as I can see, it's white, with purple floaties on the sleeves and some purple down the side? Are we talking about the same kit? Anyway, glad some people like it.

Thought you were living in Melbourne but coming back to Perth for 4 games. Best to ring the club. The Deep Purple memberships for 2 games are valid for either home or away but work out at $50 a game. Flexi memberships are only good for home games.

Even though you would be paying for a game you won't use, a 5 game Flexi membership $128.75 is cheaper than buying 4 x individual tickets (4 x fees) and much cheaper than buying 2 x 2 game Deep Purple memberships. Just give the extra game to a mate. Cheers. So that will allow me to enter the designated away bay? Can I bring a guest? Excuse my ignorance. I haven't purchased a Glory membership in a long time because I live in Vic and I never got the value out of it. Sorry - misunderstood. Thought you were living in Melbourne but coming back to Perth for 4 games. Best to ring the club. The Deep Purple memberships for 2 games are valid for either home or away but work out at $50 a game. Flexi memberships are only good for home games. Ah, I see. Jesus, $50 a game is pretty steep!
