- Mitch Oxborrow showed more in 80 mins than Brandon O'Neill showed in three seasons
- Jack Clisby was no great loss
- Maclaren was fantastic but will either go to the Jets and become another Adam Taggart or go to Victory and sit on the bench (Not how sure the financials are going to work there as he is on a good contract at Glory. It was one of the bones of contention under Edwards and wouldn't be surprised if his car/accommodation were part of the recent problems. You would have to think Archie Thompson would have to go for Maclaren to end up at Victory).
- Vukovic put in the best goalkeeping performance of any keeper this season and still couldn't edge Maclaren for MOTM. Best keeper in the league. (He will probably be off to Victory as well).
-Risdon was all over the place mentally. More passing errors in one game than in the rest of the season.

With Maclaren looking likely to go, we'll be looking to bring in a cheap back up striker, and I'd be willing to be Kenny would be keen on Matty Simon or Archie (unlikely that he'd sign, but I'm surely Kenny is interested).
Midfield will need a stack of help, but Brett Holman is off contract at 31, and he's the run all day player that Kenny loves... I haven't looked to much into who else is off contract overseas, but we'll need cheap options if our cap is relatively full.

How do we release Hersi and Garcia when they are contracted and at the end of their careers? We are stuck with those two.

That donkey Zadkovich is going to be the defensive mid, for sure. Tho' better if he's back there rather than f***ing up our transition further forward. Griffiths will be a huge loss.

I agree that if Sidnei is off contract or keen to go, we should get rid. Not versatile enough. Paljic is ok, but not good enough to be an import attacking mid. Kramar would only come into it if Djulbic/Thwaite leave.

Given Glory let Brandon O'Neill go, I hope Lowe and co opt to promote Oxborrow in his place. An identified talent with the Youth NTs for a while now.

In the wake of the Edwards controversy, part of it was apparently the revelation of MacLaren's contract or some such. He's a glorified sub and while a good talent, he seems a bit beyond value and an Eastern States import anyway. Glory is strong on front third options, especially while Keogh and Harold are fit and firing.

I wouldn't mind if Glory went a bit more restrictive, akin to the self-imposed quasi-embargo of the Edwards era. Glory are soo dense with quality and experience to the point they transgressed the cap. They don't need any more. They just need to promote some more local, young talent on the fringe, like DDS and Risdon once were. Oxborrow might get his chance next season, in the rotation and so might a Woodcock, IF Glory can hang onto him?! It wasn't long ago that Glory saw bad luck with long-term injuries to Jamieson, Risdon and some others. That's why Lowe re-inforced so much in the first place. As Edwards' recruiting showed, young talents like Woodcock were adequate deputies and such injuries are supposed to provide the opportunity for such young talents!

The two VISAs are only temporary recruits anyway. Paljic an IRP for Hersi, IIRC?!

Losing Griffiths is such a blow, as too DDS tbh, but Glory can adjust and don't need to blow the bank in doing so!

Cameron Edwards just tweeted "happy to be in Malaysia, looking forward to a fresh start".

Another contributor to an inflated salary bill and non-contributor on the field departs. Said to be on an overly inflated contract (thanks Dad!), was technically excellent but too much of a lightweight for the A-League. Nice lad though.

Tweet was re-tweeted by Jack Duncan who I would expect to also depart in the off season. Thurtell has another year and IMO is a better prospect.

Even if (and I really hope not) Vukovic does leave, I would see us going in for a more experienced first choice. Even though vastly inferior to Vukovic, I wouldn't mind Birighitti coming back to his hometown.

I Vuka goes, which I hope he doesn't then we should try and keep Duncan as he done very well when he came in last season. As for Cam Edwards I would think Malaysia would be about his level.

Duncan did ok - lucky not to be sent off in one game for an elbow to the head.

Wow, losing Jamieson. One of our best players. Presumably its a cap issue.

Maclaren is also a big loss - though he would go in the end being a Victorian, still he goes early due to cap issue.

Reading between the lines (Glory wanting to hold onto Maclaren and chasing McDonald) I get the feeling Keogh might be heading out the door too.

Just a feeling.

I thought Jamieson would stay, given his main squeeze is a Perth girl.

Shame.

Glory just can't match the money I guess, at the same time he was probably the most affected by the salary scandal (he looked gutted after the Sydney game) and probably might have been the most vocal behind closed doors.

This whole salary cap saga is gutting Glory.

Which makes no sense in releasing all the younger players and now chasing more expensive ones given the cap problems.

Makes no sense at all.

Seems Glory are repeating bad habits and spiralling downwards.

Vukovic and Jamieson would definitely been amongst the most vocal and I don't think that Jamieson missing one of the last three games and coming off the bench for another was co-incidental.

None of these departures will be because of salary cap pressure, they will all be because the club's owner and administration have shown that they cannot be trusted on a personal level or with the stewardship of a club which hopes to be successful.

The only positive of this is that Vukovic, Jamieson, Thwaite and to a lesser extent Maclaren, all would have been on decent coin and with Griffiths going as well, will free up a lot of salary cap space. McDonald would be Australian marquee if the rumours are true.

Although Vukovic and Jamieson are amongst my favourite players, I'm actually most pissed off about Maclaren who is going not so much because of the salary cap debacle but because he was totally mismanaged and stuffed around by Lowe. Will probably end up at WSW or Newcastle and rip it up next season.

I would be happy with Scott Mcdonald, he will work well up front with Keogh.

I wonder who the other former Socceroo is? The only ones I can think of are Neil Kilkenny or Swarzer?

Jamieson will be a big loss, I see him as the best left back in the league.
It's hard to find quality left backs and he will be hard to replace.

Maclaren is a loss but he can be replaced - especially if we get Bulut or Mcdonald.

I'll also be happy to receive a transfer fee for Thwaite, he would be on a decent salary as well

At least with Vuko gone (is that confirmed) Glory have Thurtell and Duncan, both serviceable.

Losing Jamieson and letting Woodcock go (also, confirmed?) makes no sense.

I see defence as the main focus in the rebuilding.

Then a replacement No. 5 and then a true No. 10.

Also pissed with Maclaren. He was hitting his straps, but once again, youth management at Glory has shown up to be piss poor.

Same old story with Glory. Youth leaving and old zimmer framers signed to long term expensive contracts.

The exact opposite needs to happen. ](*,)

With this talk of McDonald, this says to me that Keogh is also walking.

I think Glory will be lucky to have 5/6 starters retained from this season.

I can see them making rash decisions to sign name players putting old legs on the park and then having to pack the squad with younger players.

But, seriously, would a youth player want to sign with Glory??? They just get overlooked every week, get pissed off and then sign for another club.

I expect Maclaren to rip it up next year in the A-League, and good luck to him. He deserves better than what he has put up with. In fact, that sounds familiar, just like Taggart. History never repeats, huh?

Vukovic and Woodcock not confirmed departures but you would hope that if Jamieson went Woodcock would stay but I think he might be on the outer with Lowe and Ord.

Duncan needs a new contract and is not ready for first team yet. IMO Thurtell is the better prospect. If Vukovic goes, I would like to see Birighitti come back home to Perth.

Could Keogh and McDonald play together? Keogh as a target man and McDonald running off him. We certainly looked more potent with two up front, especially as we lacked a goal scoring #10.

I must admit, Keogh probably does the most running off the ball for any striker in the A-League and has the bulk to be a target man. McDonald running off him might just work.

Had forgotten about Birighitti. Maybe a home coming might just sway him.

Wow, losing Jamieson. One of our best players. Presumably its a cap issue.

Maclaren is also a big loss - though he would go in the end being a Victorian, still he goes early due to cap issue.

Mismanagement of players and members has been a huge problem for this club since Sage has been at the helm we have not been able to pick a decent coach since he has been in charge that goes with the ceos as well i agree what you are saying about Jamie as well we would not have a problem keeping him if he had been treated properly i hope they have learnt from the mess they have caused this year all this years members should all get free memberships to the new year that way we may keep the 6000 members otherwise i think it will be hard to keep them all but i cant see that happening.

I'm wondering how many people on here actually watched Jamieson this season. He was good for the first 10 games and then was constantly shit. The sad thing is there are not too many Aussie left backs better than him, but he was shocking
