Hope Woodcock stays if Jamieson goes but rumour is that he wants to move on.
We are going to be stuck with Zadkovich at DM. Madaschi didn't even really get a look in, in a poor WSW backline.... Stuck behind an 18 year old often enough. I find it hard to think that Nebo will stay.... He's on big wages! Which is why he will stay. Only on about $250k which is probably what we are paying Zadkovich. I thought Marinkovich was put onto marquee wages for accounting? If I'm right he must be on a bit more than 250k...I would think Hersi is on for more. Which I find strange...surely Marinkovich isn't being paid more than Hersi? Why not make Hersi marquee for accounting purposes?

I would think Hersi would be on more as well, unless they were able to get him slightly cheaper because they were offering a two year contract (think WSW was only offering him one year at less than he was on before).

We are going to be stuck with Zadkovich at DM. Oh we can only dream Biscuitman! Oh, but please, cosmos - make it so?! [-o< After all the turmoil and chaos, perhaps from the ashes some good can come from this? I hope more young West Aussie talent backed too now, now that Glory are under the microscope and tighter within the cap. It may force Lowe and co to dig into the NYL stocks/depth, when the need arises, inevitable injuries etc... Or how else will we find the next Risdons, De Silvas and co?! Eastern Glory wrote:My shopping list:
Ryan Williams McDonald Ruka Makarounis Brad Jones Jaliens/Madaschi Kilkenny Foreign DM
If we lose....
Thwaite (Susak) Risdon (Neville) Keogh (Simon) Marinkovic (Kalmar)
Note: assuming that Vukovic is gone and that Golec is signed. Ryan Williams is/should be soo unlikely to return here, even for loan? Would not be a good sign of his progression, at this stage of his career? Makarounas and Neville returning home would be immense and a MASSIVE 'morale boost' in the way that this club drastically needs! This gutted team, unravelled by the salary cap scandal, pulled out from under them - they need that authenticity and heart back and some fan favourites, prodigal sons, coming full circle would be great. Neville was touted as a future Glory captain for petes sake! It'd be such a perfect move, on the field, but off it too - PR wise! Ruka is a bigger pay-scale perhaps, but he too would be a coup - also a fantastic fit tactically and could see Sidnei sent packing? With Makarounas - don't bother bringing him back over, LESS he's a straight replacement for Maclaren! Or it's the same circumstances in-which he left in the first place! If he could return AND be utilised in the way MacLaren was, then total win-win! Brad Jones could be epic, but can't see it?! Hopefully his wage demands wouldn't be exorbitant. Madaschi is a ready-made replacement, should Glory somehow lose Thwaite. Nick Kalmar is interesting, he seems an under-valued, under-exploited talent. Perhaps in some ways that's warranted - perhaps he was given plenty of chances during his Heart days? Or not? But he's one Eastern States Merc I wouldn't mind seeing come over, if he's value for money and can help bolster the rotation in a possibly weak area? Now he 's the kind of value/more appropriate 'rotation player' we're talking about. Edited by GloryPerth: 21/5/2015 07:42:26 PM

A fair bit of negative reception for Zadko and I was one of them, with his debut red card - But he can be better than we give credit and was a feature during Glory's mid-season purple patch.
I share everyone's concerns over his likely salary value though, especially vis-a-vis his Squad status through the season - that of a rotation talent. A guy who was an A-League regular at the Jets to the extent he was their Captain, signed from that context to be a rotation talent here. Expensive rotation talent, no doubt - not the cheapest! :/
I just hope, whatever his contract value, I hope he can contribute more this coming season, especially with the void left by the likes of Griffiths. Glory will miss him deeply and it will be a prime opportunity for the energetic Zadko to prove his wares and secure his place.

This is what i find most annoying. We do not have the best squad yet went over the cap by 400k. I think buying all of Garcia Nichols, Zad and Fierera was unnecessary. And why Keogh didnt get marquee in the first place is beyond me. All due to poor planning and management.

Hopefully we also get rid of Sidnei and Paljic. Kramar may come in for Thwaite? Shame we are stuck with Garcia and Zadkovich.

GloryB and anybody else - IIRC Paljic and Kramar were just 'temporary signings', so they're gone already. They hardly impressed enough to be worth long-term deals. Eastern Glory wrote:hotrod wrote:Nate wrote:Just saw this on Twitter:

Kosta and Ruka on the winds would be crazy! Agreed with Hotrod - Madaschi could be another local recruit akin to Griffiths, Djulbic and some others who really rejuvenate and shine in the local surrounds. He's only 32, so still has a couple good seasons left in him - flipside he may be much 'cheaper value' than when he first joined the A-League, coming back from Europe and Asia! We free up and/or cancel the 'Aussie Marquee' (Thwaite) for the 'within cap' value of Madaschi. Madaschi - Djulbic CB pairing, will still kick arse. Hopefully Woodcock retained to continue to push for his opportunities at LB, with Golec. - the latter who's a rotation CB option too. WE don't need the EXPENSIVE Barbarouses who'd be the same old issues - demanding 'Marquee-level wages'! Meanwhile, Ruka should be 'discounted wages' these days, his stocks are lower than ever after being released from a disappointing, if unlucky, WSW gig. But returning to Glory he could be another who finds his goal-scoring ways back with the team he left as a double-digit scorer. Tactically he slots in perfectly on the LW for a non-performing Sidnei and departed Hersi. Another 'within cap' bargain and potential gem in the rough. With the likes of Keogh, Marinokovic and co about, there would be far less pressure on Ruka as a primary goalscorer too. Perfect replacement for MacLaren? Jesse Makarounas. Another lad who I believe, when returning home, could sign. Tactically suitable, like-for-like for MacLaren and would, rotation wise, also be perfectly appropriate - coming as a rotation sub for Keogh, Ruka and co, much like how MacLaren did. No further down the rotation chain though, or he may aswell stay over-East! Edited by GloryPerth: 25/5/2015 05:42:46 AM

A possible 2015/16 Squad List:
#1 New GK (Birighitti or Brad Jones hopefully?) Thurtell Golec Woodcock Madaschi Djulbic Risdon Ferreira Oxborrow Zadko Kalmar Marinkovic (Current Marquee, VISA) Sidnei (VISA) Harold Garcia Ruka Makarounas Keogh (VISA)
+ New VISA LB New VISA CM/DM (For Griffiths) NYL/Local RB for rotation NYL/Local promotees for final two rotation spots; for about attacking third (For De Silva, Davies and co) and CB/Defensive Half (For Kramar, Clisby or for O'Neill, Cam Edwards).
= A slightly weakened team, sure. But still very strong in the spine, with great opportunities for the likes of Harold, Ruka, Makarounas and Woodcock, to shine! A top 5/6 team for sure!
Jones Risdon, Djulbic, Madaschi, VISA Zadko, VISA Harold, Marinkovic, Ruka Keogh
Garcia>Harold, Sidnei>Ruka, Makarounas>Keogh Oxborrow>Zadko/VISA DM, Kalmar>Marinkovic Woocock>VISA LB, New Local>Risdon, Golec>CB/LBs, Ferreira defensive half utility, New local/NYL - defensive half or midfield, New local/NYL - attacking third Thurtell>New GK (Birighitti/Jones)

Quote:Perth Glory to offer discount memberships for 2015/16 season in the wake of salary cap scandal BRADEN QUARTERMAINE PERTHNOW MAY 30, 2015 9:00PM SHARE 0 PERTH Glory has slashed membership prices by as much as 18 per cent for next season in a bid to hold on to its core membership base in the wake of the club’s salary cap scandal.
Glory will begin its membership drive on Tuesday and the special discount prices will apply for existing members who renew for next season before July 15.
Existing members will also be offered other sweeteners to stick with the embattled club, including free admission to any FFA Cup matches the team plays at home this season — which includes the November 7 final should Glory qualify for and host the showpiece match.
The Terrace, Shed and Silver memberships have all been cut from $275 to $225 for renewing members, Gold memberships have been reduced by $40 to $380 and Platinum memberships cut by $95 to $650.
There will be moderate increases on this season’s prices for new members.
Glory membership manager Joseph Marafioti said the discount memberships were aimed at “rewarding our core group of members who have supported us every step of the way and stayed loyal to us”.
“We acknowledge that our members were hurt, like the rest of us were, after missing out on finals football,” he said.
“They saw 14 of the best home games that Perth Glory has ever played last year, but they didn’t see a final. We have listened to their feedback, and more importantly, we have acted.’’
Glory was dumped from the finals and fined $269,000 by Football Federation Australia for salary cap rorting.
Perth, which led the competition for much of the season, would have finished third and hosted an elimination final against Melbourne City at nib Stadium.
Glory members will receive a renewal letter from coach Kenny Lowe this week.
“The back end of Season 10 was a trying and testing time for the club but we are confident we are moving in a positive direction,” Lowe writes.
“We need your support to help our proud club back to Glory and hope you will remain part of our Glory family.’’
A new slogan, #WESTVSREST, will also be unveiled to replace this season’s #NOTGIVINGIN.
Glory is not expected to have its full squad in place when pre-season training begins on June 17. The draw for the FFA Cup Round of 32 will be held on July 1. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/football/perth-glory-to-offer-discount-memberships-for-201516-season-in-the-wake-of-salary-cap-scandal/story-fni2fq7p-1227376124816

That means Golec is probably going to be our LB. FFS. Kenny has a lot of work to do. Sighhhhhhhhhhh. How much longer has Kenny have on his contract?
