Having read that Kenny wants us to be patient 'cause we're rebuilding the team, I did my useless bit of 'stats can mean whatever you like' research for the day: The positive of Nebo's injury and having the Ox start meant that we dragged the average age of our starting 11 down to 29.6 years. Swap them over, and our starting 11 average + 30. (Victory's was about 27.8 and they seem to have a fairly handy starting 11)

Reality is that Keny must be sacked.
He's appointed Garcia as captain, and so he won't drop out of the side until a new manager comes in. Golec is just so, so bad. Sandor will be handy. I don't see what Castro brings just yet... Fernandez will be a lemon. Not that he's a shit player necessarily, but he won't get any service. Harold is good value.
Once Alex Grant is fit and has proven himself to not be handicapped, I wouldn't mind seeing Thwaite in Midfield. We just haven't strung 2 passes together yet this season, and we need more bodies in midfield.

Thanks petszk for that. I didn't know that stuff existed, and pretty interesting some of those figures. Only a couple of teams within a year or year and half of us, but basically our starting team is a couple of years older than most. Has to count for something, whether good or bad.
But after 2 matches, we've the equal golden boot leader. Woohoo! (... and most losses, most goals against, most yellows, etc)

That decision is looking seriously bad. He is one of the leading players in passes per game.

With a small squad (Glory have 20 players?), not much experience apart from the staring 11, these injuries and a coach whose skill as a coach was masked by last season's illegal squad, it appears to be be a recipe for a perfect storm. I'm hoping one of two things happen. Glory finally click and go on a winning run or they keep losing. Either way the decision for Sage will be easy. Jagging a fluky win here and there with the sort of play we saw on Sunday will just mask these underlying issues.

Jagging a fluky win here and there with the sort of play we saw on Sunday will just mask these underlying issues. Glory supporter = hopes team keeps losing I can support the team, cheer the players and feel their hurt. It hurts me each time they play shit. It's another dagger to the heart. What I'm saying is for the greater good of Glory. Either Kenny is a master coach and Glory gel and become a finals contender with the slim squad they have or he is an imposter whose faults were hidden with last year's squad. In either case Sage will have an easy choice, keep him as coach as all is well or get a new coach and start afresh (again). I want the first, like any Glory supporter, but for the faults I have seen this season (remember, Glory has not won a game in normal time in the FFA Cup not A-League) alarm bells are ringing. Sorry If I'm super sensitive to this, but it has been plain to see for me. What I don't want is to be somewhere in between. This is just masking the problems the club has. This may just seem to be my POV, but there are plenty of Glory fans that no longer post here, that share a common mistrust of the Glory regime. On these forums there only ever seems to be two posters who seem to have a fervent hatred of my posts. Most others seem fine. That suggests to me that most people on this forum probably feel much the same way I do. They probably can't be arsed voicing their opinions. I don't think Glory have the squad to get any higher than 6th place. With some extended and new injuries and non-performing international striker and midfielder and continued losses, that will create friction between the players. I see Glory being in a very bad way come another month of the A-League. They have: Adleaide at home WSW away Victory at home (looking very tough this season) Roar away (looking the goods again) Sydney FC at home (seem to play their best in away games) MCFC away (will be tough away) All games I can see as losses with the poor form to date. There could be draws against Adelaide and WSW at best. That would be 0 and 9 for the start of the season, maybe two draws. I've drawn a line through the FFA Cup after seeing MCFC play Victory and Glory play Wellington. Mooy will totally dominate the midfield and put on a masterclass. Glory will be chasing shadows. I agree with Hotty.
Either Kenny needs to sort out our midfield, or he needs to go. What's the point of having a player as good as Castro if we can't get the ball to him?!

(Smeltz's 4 goals probably pipped him). But once again we saw a young guy who we thought would really go on with things ... if given the opportunity. Thereafter he started 3 times, and sat on the bench 37 times. And 24 of those times, he was still sitting there at the end. Hard to see why you'd not want to stick around. Think Sciola has shown enough to start...make Fernandez actually work for a starting spot. Sciola does ok at holding the ball up and is quicker which will be important in counter attack. Watching Castro and Marnikovic feed Harold and Sciola could bring a lot of happiness.

Edited by soil: 25/10/2015 10:22:02 PM Yerp. Sidnei's not good for more than 2 touches at a time. You would never put him anywhere near midfield. I got the feeling he played smart today, pulled it back out when nothing was on. Kenny needs to wake Fernandez up a bit. I'm ok with him starting next game but if he doesn't work for the team, bench the stuck up prick. Castro is the shit, him Harold, Garcia, Risdon, Mirankovic, Sandor and even Thwaite, all played superbly together today

Personalised home kits are available in the shop now EG. Any one bought the kit this year? I might want the limited edition one for the better material if the cheaper one looks shite in polyester.
Also anyone have problems with their personalised shirts from Glory? All my numbers and lettering is peeling off.
